Would rate it higher if it wasn't hyped as the shopping Mecca of the Caribbean (and there wasn't a lot to shop for - St. Thomas and St. Maarten has this place beat, hands down). Did the UTV off-roading excursion - by far the best excursion out there, and a great way to see the island, at a great price.

We went on an excursion to Palm Island. The place is very good enjoyed the beach and the food that was included but the person at site said we were to meet at 2:15 to go back to ship. I went for a walk around facility at 12:00 and noticed a sign that said we were leaving at 12:45. That could have proven to be a very expensive problem. Someone should have come around and corrected their mistake.

Toured the island in an open party bus (but, no alchohol was involved). Crazy, fun loving driver/guide. Island tour then off to the chapel, the California Lighthouse, a roadside stop for fresh made smoothies (local coconuts, mangoes, etc), final destination the beach.

Had a blast. We rented side by side off road vehicles and were able to see the whole island. We had been there before so knew a little bit about what we wanted to do. Grabbed them right as you leave the cruiseport.

Very typical tourist town. Very happening around the port, poor and impoverished away from the port. The trolley was a nice trip around town.

No excursion, but probably should have. We walked Oranjestad and it was underwhelming. We took the public bus, that was interesting. Our friends did the snorkel tour and came away disappointed, too crowded. There were 17 boats with snorkel tours all on one area.... Need I say more.

We went on a self-guided walking tour of the area around the port, had some great tacos and beer.

Another AMAZING port. We did the 4x4 natural pool/snorkel tour thru Carnival. The best money we spent...although we didnt get to swim or snorkel...the ride...the sights...everything it's a total blast!

Tons and tons of shopping in Aruba!!! markets in front of the port. And tip here, the prices at the store closest to the boat are actually better than walking into the markets in land.
