Don't see what you're looking for?

A: livelife said it perfectly. And we just leave our passports in the safe, as recommended by cruise line. Your room card shows you are on the cruise. Keep photo ID with you.

Answered by joyandjerry on May 10, 2024

A: If you’re on a closed loop cruise (leaving and returning to the same US port) all you need is a birth certificate and ID to board but if something happens medically or if you miss the ship at a port getting back to the US will be a nightmare without... a passport. It’s best to have it but not necessary.See More

Answered by CruiselineAdmin on May 10, 2024

A: We have been to Aruba several times on Carnival and never needed a passport. If your cruise is round trip and leaving and returning to the same port in the US you will not need a passport at all. We have them just in case something happens, you will... not be able to fly back to the States.See More

A: We went off on our own. The taxi driver said the beach bar at Eagle Beach would call for a cab when we're ready to leave, and to specify we had been swimming so we get a cab with protected seating. It was a different rate of fare, and the cab dropped... us off a block away from the pier, no issues but that is what unlicensed cab drivers do.See More

A: Waters Edge on Eagle Beach. Great selection of fish, had dinner on the beach and watched the sunset. It was great!!!

Answered by padremikeyd on March 28, 2023

A: We always book excursions thru the ship. The ship guarantees the return and will holdup the ship if there is an issue. We had two experiences when this happened to us. On one excursion the tour bus broke down and we were 1 hour late to the ship and t... he ship waited for us. Another time we booked thru a private vendor and the van got tied up in traffic and as we pulled in to the ship they were pulling the gangway in. They saw us running and and we were lucky to make it at the last minute. We almost missed the ship!See More

A: yes we do most of our excursions outside of the cruise line. Haven't ever had any problems getting back on time

Answered by StefBri on February 20, 2023

A: We have cruised extensively. We like to do business with the locals. Their livelihood depends on our business. They certainly want to make sure we have great experiences and get back to the ship on time. Allow enough time. Some people wouldn't be com... fortable doing anything other than excursions booked through the ship. Others are happy to walk off the ship and go with a group of passengers with a local guide.See More

A: Aruba has a free downtown tram loop that has a stop at the Port. Otherwise, there's cheap bus tickets to go all over the small island. There's a stand near the port with all the bus info.

A: We went up near the lighthouse to find an out of the way beach. A cab cost something like $40 but the local bus cost us about $1.50/pp. You can buy an unlimited daily bus pass. At the time it was about $10/pp per day.

A: We hopped on a public bus and went to Eagle Beach (January 2020). The best I can remember the beach was free but you paid if you wanted chairs. It was very nice.

Answered by LaRaeB on January 18, 2023

A: We walked from the cruise port to Surfside Beach (about 30 mins but there’s lots to see on the way). The beach is free. We paid to rent some lounge chairs and there’s a nice restaurant right on the beach. It wasn’t busy at all and it’s right near the... airport so it was fun watching all the planes come in (not as good as Maho Beach for planes but still fun).See More

A: Eagle Beach. You can catch a ride there for cheap. The vendors have chairs and umbrellas to use but they were pretty spendy. I can’t remember but it was either $50 or $75 for two chairs and umbrella. Public beach so there isn’t a good place to change... there so wear your suits.See More

It was a little crowded but at the time (which was several years ago) we found a quiet little lagoon where my husband and I spent most of the day with a couple of beach loungers. We also got a cheeseburger in paradise... from the vendor there and they also had snorkel equipment available.See More
