Took a taxi $10 per person to Coral World. $20 entry fee. It was rather small. We live In Orlando, so...it is not a Sea world. We did have fun feeding the birds and watching them feed the fish and sharks. We went next door to Coki Beach and it was wall to wall people. We then took a taxi $10 to Sapphire beach where we ate and spent time on beach...not as crowded.

Given that the Island had just recently opened back up due to the devastation of 2 hurricanes, they were in pretty good shape although some shops had just gone back up on power that day. It was a busy port due to being one of the few ships could visit, with 5 cruise ships including the largest, RC Allure of the Seas with some 7,000 passengers. We took a Mountain and Beach tour which was excellent - taking us 1,547 feet to the top of "Mountain Top" which showed views on both sides of the Island (one overlooking the famous Megan's Bay; the other overlooked the Caribbean side and the ships at port)

We have been to St Thomas with Princess many times and love it! We did not do an excursion this time. Our favorite thing is to do a run into downtown, have a drink at our favorite bar in Palm Passage, shop a little and walk back to the ship. We spent the afternoon in the sanctuary. Wonderful day!

OK - St. Thomas was kind of a let down for us. It was the spot I was most excited about, but ended up not liking it at all. We read that Magen's Bay was one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world. We read that you could rent beach chairs and umbrellas. We expected a nice relaxing day on the beach when we booked it. What actually happened was this - there were FIVE cruise ships docked at the same time so Magen's Bay was PACKED. And the beach chairs and umbrellas were just piled up by the souvenir shop. You had to rent them, then drag them wherever you wanted to sit. When you were done, you had to drag them back. So - imagine a packed beach with people dragging chairs all over the place.... not relaxing at all. I was extremely disappointed. The bar tenders worked quickly, and were able to keep up with the demand which was shocking, but I was grateful. We didn't eat here because the lines were long and we had already eaten on the ship. I did try to buy a souvenir from the gift shop, but it was SO WEIRD. The lights were off in the gift shop. I was like "are you guys open" and it took a minute for them to respond. Then I said "it's difficult to see what you have without the lights on" There was no explanation or anything - just "yes, we're open." :/ As on most of these islands, the drivers are maniacs..... It seemed more difficult on St. Thomas, however, because there were broken down cars all over the roads. It would appear that when your car breaks down, you just leave it. Eventually it's covered in vines, etc. It seemed as if it were a very poor area. Roofs were gone, top floors were gone, but people were still living in these houses. Very sad to me. One thing to note about St. Thomas - there's a TON of shopping right off the ship. So if your excursion is leaving later in the day, you can go do some shopping, then head back to the ship to change and gather the things you need for the excursion. We didn't know this and ended up carrying our beach bag, etc. with us while we were shopping.

Saint Thomas was just good. It’s a USVI so it doesn’t have a strong Caribbean vibe, but i feel like it was very Americanized and modern unlike Tortola which still had that nice vibe to it. The beaches in saint Thomas are good but not great. They seemed to be crowded compared to other islands. If saint Thomas is in your itinerary, then that’s good, but it really isn’t a place you should plan a million excursions for. Enjoy your time there!

Ok,I’m of the opinion that MOST ship excursions are overpriced and overcrowded....that being said we just walked out to the taxi stand and attempted to hire a taxi to just take us (3) to a couple interesting sites and specifically Blackbeard’s Castle.....got talked into and “island tour” in an open air jeepney type rig with a dozen other people.Went well until we made the stop at Mountaintop and one group of 5 decided to push the 20 minute stop to an HOUR.....the rest of the tour patrons were all back in the vehicle in 20 and just had to wait. Driver would not leave them( even though there were taxis/jeepneys everywhere).......So the complete lack of respect for others led to an overall air of crabbiness the rest of the tour(which wasn’t much longer thank goodness).....we should have just hired a driver for a private tour....we did have a fabulous lunch @Ameci Italian Cafe downtown (lobster pizza YUM)

We went to coki beach in Saint Thomas. I have been to Saint Thomas three or four times before but this time was very different. To see the devastation created by the hurricanes in 2017 was absolutely heartbreaking. The devastation from that hurricane is real and you can see it in the streets in the holes in the stores. The island and it’s great people are trying to recover with such pride. They understand The tourism is the main income for the island and it’s lifeline to recover from such devastation and they do that at most best to help accommodate all the tourists. I did not care for cookie beach and it was not one of the pictures in the reviews said it was going to be here next time I’m in Saint Thomas I will avoid coki beach probably opt for Megan’s bay. To access the beaches in Saint Thomas you need not be on an excursion. When you get off the ship there are tons of taxis waiting for you, the price is $10 per person one way which is a fraction of the excursions prices. When you get to the beach you can rent two chairs and an umbrella For about $20 for the day. You can get a bucket of beer for about $25 for six years. Enjoy
