Other than the traffic (narrow lanes, walkers and bikers everywhere and irregular parking apparently randomly carved out of what was a right lane or left lane), Vancouver was very nice and a good return to civilization. We intended to just spend a night and fly out late the 2nd day but missed our flight (climbing Grouse Mountain turned out not to be the 2 hour hike I expected but is the strenuous climb as they mention at the trailhead - it can be done by people used to it and extremely fit in 1 hour but was more like 6 hours for us including an hour spent stopped and calling to change our flight to the next day). The day of arrival we went to Capilano State Park with its suspension bridge but didn't get there until after 5 due to traffic and spending time in Chinatown so the visit was a little rushed as they close related trails at 7pm (on the other hand, there was a 30% off deal if you arrived after 5 so money was saved). Beautiful views from both Grouse Mtn and Capilano.

Great city, so much in common with our City of San Diego. Great views, beautiful park, awesome craft breweries, Gastown and nice weather. Oh, they have homeless people too!

Vancouver is a big city and we are from a smaller town, so we were a little out of our comfort zone. We did not take an excursion, but we did visit Stanley Park and took a carriage ride which was very nice.

This is where we disembarked, the saddest day fo the cruise. We loved the town. Being away from big cities for two weeks now, this city was a relief. I went ship spotting every day and even captured the Westerdam's Muster Drill!

Our last port. Flew home from here but had all day in a beautiful city. We rented a speedboat & spotted a bald eagle flying across the bay as we sped around? WVing goodbye to the Solstice as she whisked the next group of lucky vacationers off to Alaska.

We took a 4hr city highlights tour during our short stay in Vancouver. We took the Sky Train from the airport with ease, to reach the Delta Vancouver hotel. Visit the Granville Island market!
