Probably the one place I could settle in. The visit to the Fortress of the Bear should not be missed!

We liked the coastal, small town vibe. Went to Fortress of the Bear-small and kinda depressing but they are trying to do good work and I applaud that. It looks like they are trying to expand which will be good-it was too crowded. I hope they can expand the enclosures for the bears too. We had an hour there and in reality you only need maybe 15-20 minutes if that. Ate at the Bayview Pub across from the visitors center in town- good food but too expensive ($15 for a regular burger and $3 upcharge if you want fries instead of chips)

Beautiful port with many excursion options. The bears were delightful! The whale sightings were incredible - too many to count!

Sitka had alot to offer, I wish we had more time there. We did a birds barnacles and bear excursion that was a nice way to experience the town

definitely do a whale watching tour here - humpbacks were everywhere, and we also saw sea otters!

It was cloudy and rainy but we still took zodiac boat trip and saw lots of wildlife. I would love to see the mountains in the sunshine, maybe next time.
