Sitka is a very interesting place. We went on a excursion booked privately which gave us a lot of history about the area and we also visited the Fortress of the Bear.

The town is small. Walked to the rain forest. Fantastic! Walked to the Raptor Center. Even though I know these people were doing a fine job of helping the birds, I didn't really enjoy seeing them in their cages. Not my thing.

Tongass rain forest was incredible to see and I learned so much about the salmon and bears. Cute banana slugs.

Sitka is beautiful! The Raptor Center and nature walk was interesting, informative and fun. For lunch I had a Reindeer hot dog from a cart in town which was quite tasty. The Sea Otter and wildlife quest was my afternoon excursion. We saw many sea otters plus sea lions and lots of Bald Eagles.

The Raptor Center is a must see. We also did the Russian History tour which was OK. Too short a time to really enjoy the town.
