First time in Sitka, Nice quiet port....you can tell that the cruise lines have yet to take it over. Lots of history there. Great stop

Not much to do in town except shop. The national historic museum quite a long walk but nice. Friends enjoyed bear and bird preserves and native dancing. Found a taxi.

Highly recommend hiking Tongass - beautiful views and great guides. It's a bit tough for people with breathing difficulties, but worth the effort - rain or shine. No "cruise industry sponsored" jewelry stores!! Many local artists and abundant wildlife.

Same comment as above regarding time at shore. Too much to see for the short time ship in port.
