1st stop. Be prepared to get tendered to &from the ship. Tidal fluctuations were 10-12' and the smaller cruise ships did not match well with the port. Zodiac boat with local guide was fantastic. 1st sighting of ball eagles - very plentiful.

Mediocre, we walked the city, bought a few things & returned to the ship.

Nice to walk around, really big change from 30 years ago. Same shops you see in other ports

Logging Show was a must and fantastic port for souvineers. The further you go down the street the cheaper items get. We enjoyed the Christmas Storm but they were pricey.

The self quidded walking tour was interesting (maps at visitor center). The hillside streets and layout of homes in the Newtown area are very interesting. The downtown area is very touristy.

Time in port too short! It was misty raining but that didn’t deter us. We went on a 2 hr tour that we booked when we got off the ship but it was less than stellar.
