Review summary

Personal, respectful & engaging the captain down to the laundry staff wanted what was best for the guest. The older crowd kept the random explosions of noice and jostling out of the mix. Time for you & your +1 to enjoy each other with your peers and couples of the same age.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Concise, Efficient & Delightful

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Diverse, Elegant & Inviting

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Group challenges, puzzles & pool area were activities we engaged. The actors & actresses lead the group games and puzzels - very personal and Inviting. The pool area was relaxing and playful for the adult crowd.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
High shelf entertainment, Earnest - Cruise Director, was fun, energetic and exciting. The live bands, singers & entertainers should compete on the TV Idol Shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wow, you felt like royalty from embarking to departing.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The entire ship experience was fantastic. This was our 1st experience with a small size (max 690 passengers) cruise ship. We may never go back to the bigger party boats (>2500 passengers). The elevators were always available, no lines anywhere. The open design and excellant quality material gave the impression that you were on a luxury liner. Everything was clean and maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Normal sized stateroom. Very comfortable. The balcony was a must to view Alaskan mountains and beauty.

Ship tip

This is for Adults there are no family activities for children or young adults.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Canada Place was recently updated and handled all cruise liner needs beautifully.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
1st stop. Be prepared to get tendered to &from the ship. Tidal fluctuations were 10-12' and the smaller cruise ships did not match well with the port. Zodiac boat with local guide was fantastic. 1st sighting of ball eagles - very plentiful.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Port surrounded by jewerly dealers some local flavor. Whale watching was fantastic. Also saw sea lions.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Beautiful city, locals friendly and mountainous backdrop. Helicopter tour of glaciers with dogsled ride was highlight of trip! Mush!

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
Exellent transportation from Harbor to town. Visited eagle & bear rehabilitation shelters. State park with totem poles was fantastic .

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
Port was okay. Very busy waterfront. Get acquainted with city layout before you depart. Signage scant and elusive. Visited the Space needle and blown glass museum. Both a must.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Precise and accurate instructions provided two days before disembarking. Small numbers of guests helped make the disembarking experience unmemorable.

We are going on the Quest to Alaska in July. Is there anything you wish you did that you didn't? Any other tips? First time for us on Azamara and first time to Alaska.
