Weather still rainy with low clouds. Hadn’t pre planned any excursions but we going to go up in the tram if the weather was cooperating. Walked around town for awhile.

We shared a cab with 4 other passengers out to Mendenhall Glacier, the cost was $35 each way plus $7 per person fee for entrance to the glacier area. The cab held 6 passengers so we were able to split the cost between three couples. We coordinated with the the other couples and the cab driver for the return trip. We were free to hike on our own schedule and go to the visitors center. We saved quite a bit of money vs doing the shore excursion or shuttles offered. It was a rainy day but still a beautiful experience. After returning to town we had time to shop and visit the Red Dog Saloon before returning to the ship.

We did a gold panning excursion. Was expensive but they took us up in the mountains to gold creek to pan. I took my shoes off and waded for 5 minutes before my feet froze. The town was nice but we didn't have time to do the tram or mendenhall glacier. Make sure you do the tram but buy your tickets on the boat.

Had to venture back several streets to find the local shops. Map supplied by Celebrity only shows the "Company" stores. Whale watching was terrific. After seeing Hubbard glacier, Mendenhall glacier was n't as impressive

Loved Juneau! We took the Mt Roberts tram and we were entertained by locals singing Native Alaska songs. The views were beautiful! We ate lunch in the restaurant at the top. we had the most delicious clam chowder and fish and chips. Service was good. Very friendly people worked in the restaurant and gift shop. Next we went to the Dog Sled Summer Camp. We enjoyed the beautiful drive to the camp. When we arrived to the camp we were greeted by a camp full of dogs. They were not the Alaska Huskies we were imagining. They are a breed of their own. After being greeted we got to ride in the carts made for the purpose of exercising the dogs. The Musher, Tim Pappas, did a great job telling us about his dogs and the sport of dog mushing. Of course we loved our time holding the puppies. We recommend this tour.

This was our first stop. Weather was overcast with on off rain. Did a whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier excursion with Juneau-Skagway Tours. Booked this outside of the dock. The cost was less than a similar excursion with Princess and the experience was awesome. Whale watching was excellent. Saw a pair or pod of hump backs breach many times while out in Auke Bay. Took some awesome pictures too. The boat crew were excellent and provided a lot of background on the hump backs in the inner passage. One shout out is to Marina for helping my spouse in the wheelchair up the ramp from the dock. I can't thank you enough with helping my spouse get back up from the dock. I don't know how you did it but if it wasn't for you, this excursion could not have happened! Thank You!

Wow gorgeous place. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to explore this town. When we got to port my husband and I went up mount Roberts. It’s a bit of a hike up there so be prepared and wear comfortable shoes and clothes. We came back down after about out and a half went back to the ship because our next excursion we had to meet there. We then went for the glacier walkabout. That is the helicopter tour and then you get special shoes and tracing stick to walk on the glacier. They teach you about the glacier and all that. It’s a bit expensive but well worth it.

We had a great time in this port. Lots of shopping. My favorite store is House of Russia. The owner was the sweetest lady as well as all the staff. We also stopped at the Red Dog saloon for drinks. We did two excursions Alaska Sled Dogs and Musher's Camp and the Historic Gold Panning and Gold Creek Salmon Bake. Gold panning was fun. I really enjoyed learning how to pan and the hands on part of it. The salmon bake was delicious We had hesitation going into the sled dog excursion. We are huge animal lovers and had concerns we would not enjoy it because of the dogs possibly not being cared for as we thought they should. This turned out to be one of our favorite excursions. The dogs are loved and cared for by their owners and they absolutely loved pulling the sled. You can see and hear the excitement as they get ready. We were so impressed that each musher knew the names and personalities of each of their dogs. Some mushers have well over 50 dogs. We were able to love on the sled dogs after the run and got to cuddle with a litter of puppies. We were relieved to find out that breeding is very controlled and there are not litters being done as some would describe as puppy mill. In order for us to see puppies they had to reach out in the musher community and for lack of better word borrow a mom and her 5 week old puppies for us to see and cuddle.
