Review summary
The Hubbert Glacier was worth the trip. Unbelievable! The ship got very close the glacier. You could hear the thunder from the ice cracking.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very easy! Our stateroom was ready. Enjoyed a nice snack on the Liddo Deck prior to leaving.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
There is always a great variety to choose from. In the dining room, We did notice a decline in the quality of the food since our last cruise. The meats were tough and the vegetables were mushy. We didn’t like the new trend of up selling meals in the dining room, as there are plenty of specialty restaurants onboard. Just seems tacky.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Although there plenty of activities to do, I enjoyed the pool and walking “laps” around the ship,,
Entertainment
1 out of 5
We enjoyed the instrumentals in the bar the most. The first comedy act we saw was terrible and insulting. Based on that experience we pasted on the other entertainment shows.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was outstanding! Our room stewards were phenomenal.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Little older ship, but well maintained. I loved the library and crow nest.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Typical inside stateroom. Very comfortable. Love seat and club chair. Small tv.
Ship tip
If you want a comfortable recliner in the library to enjoy reading and the view go early! They are in hot demand.
Enjoyed this stop. Saw some wildlife, vendors not pushy and excellent tour of the cannery. Rode the shuttle into town; walked around and talked with a couple of the residents. Very fun.
Weather still rainy with low clouds. Hadn’t pre planned any excursions but we going to go up in the tram if the weather was cooperating. Walked around town for awhile.
I did the great Alaskan Walmart excursion. Had fun rode the shuttle visited with some the locals. Nice town. By the way there are two shuttles from the ship one into town and the other to Walmart.
if you think getting a recliner in the library was hard, forget about getting one in Crow's nest, they were taken and reserved by sunrise and never let go until closing time... never sat in one although I did manage to touch one...
