Fun town. A lot to see here. Very touristy though. There were a few very steep staircases leading up to the locals’ homes. Would have been fun to explore away from the main street, but we didn’t. We saw a few bald eagles in Juneau.

Don't be too disappointed if your helicopter or small plane excursion is cancelled last minute. It happens often as the weather here can get nasty fast. This happened to us but we were able to quickly book a whale watching excursion cheaper than we could have through Carnival. Great fun and one of the few ports that offer money back guarantee, you will see whales! Tracy's Crab Shack, right on the dock, has a $40 combo meal (one King crab leg, cup of bisque, 4 small crab cakes and rolls with melted butter). There was enough food for my husband and I to split, but I'm glad we added an extra crab leg for $25. It was our favorite meal of the entire trip!
