Please don’t be late to your excursion. We waited an hour in total. Boarding the bus a group was 40 minutes late. At both stops we also waited for those who apparently can’t tell time. We had no time to walk around Juneau. Very disappointing.

Had fun, mostly shopped here. Was beatiful. Did a lot of walking. Again, the local owned shops we're the best and most friendliest. Was definitely a lot of shops to see.

Juneau was awesome. I purchased both the Mt. Roberts tram, as well as the salmon bake in the evening for dinner. Best take the tram as early as possible, otherwise you could be spending some time waiting in line. Doing it earlier will also give you plenty of time to do some hiking around the trails.

The Explorer docked far away (well maybe a mile walk) from the shopping area. Our previous visits to Juneau were on the Radiance which docked at the shopping / downtown area. No complementary transportation to the downtown area was provided by RCCL. Did not take an excursion. The Shore Excursion staff was very helpful in advising us on getting to the Mendenhall Glacier on our own safely and much less expensively than the other tour and shuttle providers.

Juneau was rainy when we visited but just not the immediate beauty the other ports had. More city, commercial life than the other ports, but I'm sure that has to do with the capitol being there. We did see bald eagles though and took and excursion to Mendenhall Glacier and Mt. Roberts Tram, which we did enjoy very much. Too many jewelry stores in every port and too much pressure to buy from them all.

So disappointed we were unable to take our big tour on the hovercraft to the base of the glaciers. Weather was terrible, no fault of cruise or excursion. We decided to take a whale watch and Mendenhall Glacier tour. We were soaked on the cruise and went directly back to ship. Never saw, other than glimpse of Glacier.
