Very cool place without Diamonds International or other chains. Small quaint and all Alaskan. Best port. Lots of whale sightings. Great crabby Bloody Mary and excellent zip line.

Completely contrived shopping stop. Pretty. Skip the bear excursion. Waste of time. They neglected to mention you only see bears late in the summer. Ripoff.

Definitely visit the restaurant at the port and have the fish and chips! Also visit the bar with the huge stone fireplace. It was the perfect place to while away the afternoon!

We did not book and excursion in Hoonah but leisurely walked around and found plenty in the port area to see, The history of Hoonah is interesting and the facilities around the docking area are great. We were blessed with pleasant weather that day.
