I would give this venture a ten star rating if I could. The inside passage to get there is like another world and takes sightseeing to another level. This IS why everyone loves and raves about an Alaskan cruise. The whole thing was just so beautiful (almost beyond belief) the water, because of the much colder mountains was a beautiful tuiquoise water with chunks of ice and very tiny icebergs. The mountains were covered with ice and snow and the water falls were small streams from the top of the mountains to the water below. The water must be very deep because we got very close to the mountains. We had to get out of bed at 5:00 a.m. because of the itinerary forced us to do so. I tell you that this was the highlight of our entire cruise. Its beauty defies words and it actually brought me to tears. Only the Smoky Mountains are second to it. I thank God that I was able to see this amazing scenery in my lifetime ! Definitely worth twenty stars instead of just five. I could go on forever about this.

The was spectacular. The Captain put the ship within a couple of hundred yards of the glacier and we sat there for nearly 45 minutes. He then had the ship do a 360 degree turn so everyone had a great view of the glacier before moving along. One of the crew members gave an outstanding audio review of the glacier & surrounding area.

Spectacular. Three hours of looking at the Earth the way God intended it to be. I was particularly amazed at the handling of Discovery Princess when we reached the end of the fjord. The Captain was able to turn the ship on a dime to give everyone the opportunity to see the glacier. I never saw ship handling like that when I was in the Navy. :-)

The captain sailed as close as possible. The ships design is unique, allowing it to spin in circles so the glacier could be viewed from all sides of the vessel. The sun decided to emerge from the clouds at the exact moments we arrived at the glacier. Spectacular!

Just Awesome! Can’t say enough about our Captain Alex and how he took us as close as possible and spent a considerable amount of time there. The previous evening were awaken at 11:30 PM to view The Northern Lights that the bridge had spotted. It was a wonderful experience

Gorgeous day and views of the glacier. The captain spun the boat 360 degrees 3 times so we could all get a great view of the glacier.

Beautiful hours gliding through mini ice pieces that had broken off of the glacier. Oh so beautiful!

The ship drove us through there was no getting off the ship. It was very nice for them to open the front for us and offer us blankets while we viewed the glaciers.

We were not able to get close due to the ice. I was in quarantine but was still able to view as close as we were able to.
