We’re Done

Just cancelled our two Jan 2021 cruises and rented a lake house in Florida. After 23 cruises I think we are done. Not sure we’ll ever get past the “ick” factor of the elevators, buffet, etc. I’ve decide that I like being at least 6’ from people. Will we miss it? Absolutely! But it will never again be what it once was. Sayonara 😷

Same here...looks like ours for the end of NOV seems to be more questionable daily. we could stand not even going to ports...a week at sea with the ship at 30% capacity wouldn't break my heart at all....

We still have one on the books for Sept 2020 but I know the ports are closed. Just waiting to see what the cruise lines do with this one. They so far have not cancelled. But I know as soon as we are able we will be on a ship.

I'm more uncomfortable with the idea of going on a plane then going on a ship. I will say, if I cruise again I will book a balcony cabin instead of an interior. That way if anything happens and we are quarantined on the ship I won't be locked in a interior cabin for a week or two. The problem with no planes is i'm then stuck with ports that I can drive to, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco or a 2 day drive to Seattle and about $ 400.00 in gas ( I burn over 3 gallons an hour on the freeway, I went for power and comfort over MPG).

I'll be doing some local get away's in the next couple months. I'm lucky to have a lot of great beach communities in a few hours drive. I want to get to the 3rd tour of Hearst castle ( I have done 2 of the 3 tours) with a few nights stay in Morro Bay, stopping to do some wine tasting and driving through the National Forest on the way.

We have one coming up in November 2020. Very "iffy" right now but we are still hoping for the best. This will be our third cruise so we are still excited about going. We wish you the best of luck with your new adventures. With 23 cruises behind you, you can certainly say "been there, done that". I don't think we'll ever hit or get close to 23 But for now, we're looking at 2 more. Let's see how that goes.

To each his/her own. We shall all do what we are comfortable with. Good luck.

We are still hoping for our ten day Feb 2021 cruise to work out. If there are problems during this cruise then I might look at more all-inclusive places, if that fails then I'll move to a golf course community with unlimited golf.... "I wish"

Hoping your new way turns out to be the best for you! Life is far too short not to enjoy it! Good luck!Happy
