Vegetarian Labeling at the Buffet

I am not a vegetarian so don't totally understand this but all of the foods that were specially prepared had Vegetarian on their labels (e.g. Vegetarian Carrots). There was an abundance of these type of items and I chatted with a woman who was a vegetarian and she was thrilled at this addition to the buffet ...

My daughter in law is gluten intolerant, We have become aware of how to prepare deal with various foods. Cross contamination is a very real threat to those who cannot tolerate a type of food. Vegetarian are the way they are mostly by choice... But Vegetarian Carrots????

Have you seen the Kosher meals ? Poached chicken, some bread, and some other items that are all individually wrapped ( due to the prep process ). It all looked so.........flavourless. I had an aunt that kept Kosher because of her mother. Never enjoyed eating there. Well, until the mother died. Then the food suddenly got much better.

Sometimes there are "hidden" ingredients like items may be cooked in chicken stock or some beans with bacon and even some cheeses have animal rennet in them. I think its a wonderful addition for those with allergies or dietary restrictions. Also allows the dining staff not to have to pull away and go over what options are suitable.

ok, i thought i was the only one!

My husband is on a low protein diet and even some vegetarian foods are still high in protein, such as beans. Makes life hard for him when dining out on trips.

Carnival didn't label the buffet like that, but they did have enough selections in the MDR to please my vegetarian friend, each evening on the Sunshine.

Saw a friend last night who is a vegetarian and got a full blown explanation of what and why that is kudos to Princess for the signs ... She was really impressed that they've started doing that because so much food is not vegetarian ... I'll spare you the details.

Lucky bloody you. I've always wanted to visit Petra. Nowadays - who knows?

Wife is a quasi vegan, that's okay with me as it helps keep my saturated fat intake down. I eat too much steak and seafood as it is anyway. One time, I really felt sorry for vegetarians. We spent the better part of a day at the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. A lot of hiking was involved, so by the time we got done we had worked up hardy appetites. Before we got off the coach and met our guide, we had to indicate on a list what type of sandwiches we wanted after we got out of the city and met again in the lobby of a nice hotel. The sandwiches were all laid out on a table when we got there, no names on the sandwich bags, just the ingredients. Some on the bus decided they wanted vegetarian instead of what they listed at the start, so they took the vegetarians sandwiches. Leaving the hungry vegetarians with roast beef and cheese.

Never understood vegetarians. Humans are carnivores.. It's just weird to me

I understand chill out on meats and eat your veggies but veggies only... Uh-huh noway.
