There is no pleasing some people

I just read the below article and cannot believe the comments from some of the passengers.

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Carnival-Cruise-Ship-Passengers-Stuck-in-New-York-City-Hurricane-Matthew-Cancels-Trip-395919321.html

The cruise line did everything within their powers and went way beyond what was required but it seems that some people just don't get it. First the cruise line offered a full refund for the trip but people opted to go north. Now they are offering a 50% credit for a future booking plus 250 OBC. And all of this for something outside of their control (the weather) and something that they do not have to pay compensation for. But still people complain. Yeah I get it. This is not the vacation they planned. But $hit happens and sometimes you just have to deal with it and move on. This one is a good example of people with unreal expectations.

I noted that in a post earlier about what would be said about the cancellations.

I also heard that full refunds were given at the time for those who wanted to go home. So the line did what they could. Especially when we see how bad the storm is.

This article came up on my FB and I was just telling my BF that. I work at the port in Baltimore so when I walked in on Sunday I didn't know anything until someone said "I don't want to go to NY!"

The original letter they gave at the door had $100 OBC and 25% off a future cruise, so they even upped that! Many people canceled, and its their prerogative, but They tried getting word out before the cruise and even when you walked in the door.... Safety first....

Yep!

Sad to say, I told DH that this would happen. Some people no doubt want the cruise they are on to be free and then another free cruise to compensate, and then OBC to sooth their ruffled feathers. SMH Wonder how many will remove their gratuities since they had a terrible cruise? I feel sorry for the crew. Crabby, hateful people who will likely stiff them.
