The Cheers Beverage Problem. Yes or No?

I did some calculations and figured out this is a great value if you are plan on having at least five or more drinks a day.

Drinks are about $8 or more depending on what your drinking. Cheers Beverage Problem is about $245.00 on a four day cruise.

Five (5) drinks a day can cost from $160.00 to $200.00.

So the really question is, "You going to Celebrate all day or just a bit.

Important! You can't share this problem, it's per person. They are watching too.

So that's 61per day on CARNY, and if one person buys in in a cabin, they all must..My wife doesn't drink either, but she doesn't care what I do, and she's partial to those virgin drinks anyway. So its no biggie for me to make the thing pay...we quit even discussing it moons ago. Besides, about 1/2 the time + we don't get off at some ports anyway...the ship is glorious!

The only time we have had the drink package was when NCL offered it as a booking perk and even then they still charge the 18% gratuity on the full price of the package so $36 a day for 2 people and since my wife does not drink that means I have to consistently consume 4 - 5 drinks a day just to break even with a freebee.

So if "you did the calculations", you're really asking us how much YOU'RE going to drink? lessee, watching some folks drink on these barges, about mid-week they get "boozed out"....trying to "get ahead"...very entertaining hehehehe

It would be a waste of money for us but we have friends who use it and think it is great.

We don't use it and we find each time we cruise, we save money by ordering alcohol for our room and bringing soda on board or mixing with tea.

For us it was not worth it, especially on a sailing with many ports of call. We aren't on the ship enough on those days (usually). We tried it and compared the total spent on the package and the total spent on other similar cruises. We also found we drank more with the package, much to the expansion of my waistline.
