Saving Money / wasting money on a cruise

Hi ,

I just read a article on how to save money on a cruise & ways that cruises waste your money. Here are some points that were relevant to me. I'd love to hear your points of view.

1. not buying a drink with out a beverage package is a waste of money. My thoughts are there is no way I can personally drink 70$ a day in drinks.

2. WiFi it says that you can save money buying the WiFi package. My thoughts are at 70$ a day it's not wort it to me .

3.Getting exercions thru the cruise line is a waste of money. My thoughts are that if I try to find exertions on my own are they going to make sure I get back in time? As a side note on this point it was also stated that being on a cruise with limited time at ports.

I know everyone situation is different & finances are different. What are your thoughts?

I am receiving the non-alcohol package for free and I will use it to the full. Wi-Fi no way because I do not need to get on Facebook or check on accounts because my bank will reimburse me if a fraud takes place.Yes, the alcohol package is very expensive because you are not allowed to share with anyone, not even your spouse, therefore, it is a waste of my $56 a day then add taxes. The Wi-Fi is still too much money to see Facebook? and reply to emails, I am on a vacation to get away from the internet. The only cruise line which offers one price for all your cruise photos is NCL for $149 total for a stateroom in 2010 which was an outrageous price and we did take a photo on every turn on/off the ship embarkment and in every port. It will be great for all of them to take the position of one set price for photos.

I can't remember the last time we took a cruise line excursion. We book through reputable companies and build in plenty of time to get back to the ship. We had booked and paid for a tour in Israel when the cruise line changed the itinerary. The cost was refunded by the company before Celebrity notified us of the change. These days, when social media reports on everything a company would soon go out of business if it let cruisers miss their ship, or didn't refund money.

Like others we don't drink enough to get value from a package and we never buy photographs. We do, however enjoy eating at specialty restaurants a couple of times during a cruise.

A good lesson about the bank account. Our CC company always sends us a note before we leave, telling us they know we are on vacation because we used that card. They explain that there is no need to notify them. But if you do not have this with your banking or CC company, it is highly recommended that you notify them before you sail.

Our drank package was included in our price as a perk, we had planned to take excursion that had a 8 hour trip and we booked threw the ship. Or book a early excursion that was only a few hours we didn’t worry about getting back to the ship late.

If your stick addicted to WiFi then the package but it will cost a arm and a leg.

Our package comes with 40 minutes we only use WiFi to check bank accounts and make

sure we are not over changed. My aunt went on a cruise found after 3 day not checking her bank someone had been shopping at her expense.

No, it is just a card and unused card can be used on your next cruise.

Princess cruise line is different from Carnival drink package, because you can get a coffee package and save it on your next cruise which is very nice.

I tried the drink package on our previous cruise. I just can't keep up with drinking to make it worth it. With Cheers (Carnival) I did get to try some unusual drinks that I normally would not. In the future I will pay as I go.

I just purchased the New Grounds Coffee Card through Princess for my upcoming Alaska cruise. $35.65 for 15 specialty coffee drinks and unlimited proper coffee and tea. Less than 2.40 per drink. I saw this and jumped on it...I can go a whole cruise without an alcoholic drink, no problem, but reduce my coffee intake, and watch out matey, argh. I'm from the Pacific NW, we practically mainline java in my neck of the woods, and I like the specialty coffee drinks. Package wording stars you can use unused punches on future cruises...if you keep the card, that is.

On Princess Cruises, you can purchase(Beverage section) a Coffee card for $35 for so many coffees and free hot chocolate and if you do not use them on one cruise you can save it for another cruise.

Unused punches for designer coffee

what does this mean ? Does Princess have a buy 10 get one free coffee card ?
