Resurrection??

When is old too old? Happy

Let's say I'm searching the forum, find something on my topic but might still have a question. The thread is...8 months old. Do I resurrect the dead or create a new thread/topic?

thanks and happy cruising!!

Well, my grammar learned me how to talk and rite real good!Big Smile

The way I see it, if I can understand what the writer is trying to say, then it is good enough. After all, English may not be their first language, and their attempt at it is far superior to my ability to speak their language.

We don't get yelled at for typos or grammar mistakes on here like we did on a now defunct forum.Wink

It really doesn't matter here.

I know that I will invariably answer two different ways on two different threads.

At least we aren't like some of the larger forums where you will get yelled at either for not searching the forum or for necro-ing a threadBig Smile

I'm jumping on board and post

If someone resurrects an old thread it bounces to the top and shows up as new on the forum. (Not to be confused with "bumping"---"Bumping-Please do not manipulate postings on the boards by "bumping" topics to the top of the forum. Readers will assume something of value has been posted, only to find that the newest posting is nothing more than a "bump post". This only wastes everyone's time.") It depends upon the subject matter whether or not a new thread is necessary. If there are a lot of new developments pertinent to the subject at hand then perhaps an entirely new thread is warranted. In my opinion, it is a joke when a new thread is started days within posting of an almost identical subject and all opinion and comment in the new is redundant to the old. Often times when an older subject is resurrected it becomes more comprehensive than a new one allowing the reader to achieve a better understanding of the subject. "Browse Before You Post

Start a new one so I can repeat myself because I have already forgotten what I said last week ... after all .... second thing to go is the memory

Yes, start a new thread. Who is going to go back 8 months?

Now you know!

Didn't someone ask this once before ?

see, it's better to start a new one Wink

Yep, start a new one
