True. We did have an earthquake here a few years ago.

I live about 10 minutes by car from the port. It was the first to evacuate on the barrier island along with the restaurants and other business located there there. The port sustained very little damage and was able to quickly reopened after inspection of the facilities by the Coast Guard. Ships, however, now may only enter & leave the port during daylight hours since channel markers have moved. I watched three ships depart on Sunday and it was a grand sight.

Yikes! I'm so glad we don't cruise during hurricane season.

Which is why I live in the desert ... Love living by the ocean but hate the stress ...

Hey. That's the price for ocean front property.

Yep, been there done that.

I was just reading a similar story. It stinks. We have friends in FL and they have cleaned out the water isles in the stores, Super long lines for gas/ ran out...Better to be safe than sorry is what I say.

Hurricanes give you a warning. On the west coast we just wake up to and earthquake...... kind of an "OH $#@$" wake up. LOL

Wishing everyone safe days ahead!

I grew up on the east coast and we went through a few hurricanes.
