NOBODY MAY BE GOING ANYWHERE

It seems unlikely, but who knows. This is a continuation of the "meetings" that started last Saturday.

It will be interesting to see what the various countries around the world will do as this virus starts to fan out globally. Italy is taking extreme measures. Sport teams are closing their dressing room doors to non essential personnel,. Arenas are lessening the number of fans to view games. Stay tuned.

Kind of surprised at Italy. That they were able to do this I mean. One of the most visited countries in the world. The Chinese, well...the inscrutable ones do what they want, and besides, they lie.

It is interesting, but if they restrict flying first, not everyone can get to the ports. Airplanes recirculate the air, I am more worried about that than a cruise ship.Surprised

Ditto!!

My MIL is worried about us still taking ours, we still have 52 days. ANYTHING can happen in 52 days. We will just wait and see.

And I thought I had read that someone said if you are healthy, it's OK To get on a cruise ship, but if you have an underlying condition, I wouldn't recommend it.. it was at the same press conference with Pence yesterday.. or maybe not. I haven't slept well since the time change LOL

Even if they don’t ban cruises entirely, it appears more ports have decided to no longer allow cruise ships to stop. Monterey and Santa Barbara in California and apparently Canada is discussing closing all ports to cruise ships. That would destroy the Alaska cruise season unless the suspend the Jones Act requiring a ship cruising Roundtrip from a US port must stop at a foreign port.

The economy will surely be affected.

That was some kind of article you posted a link to KENN. Not particularly surprising, unfortunately, on several levels. Nuff said.

I also agree, and my cruise is in 9 days! All my friends have canceled including my roommate. If I decide to go I will be all alone. My biggest fear other than the airplane is that I will show up and cruise on a ghost ship with almost no other passengers on board. How terrible to show up for dinner and I would be the only person sitting at a table for 10! Still thinking about it because I do want to go but doing it alone on an empty ship doesn't sound exciting
