It seems unlikely, but who knows. This is a continuation of the "meetings" that started last Saturday.

I also see now that Princess has just announced that they are suspending operation of all ships for 60 days

Latest shutdown I saw this morning .. this is from the Viking FB page

Dear Viking Guests,

Today Viking announced that we will temporarily suspend river and ocean cruise operations until May 1, 2020 in response to the coronavirus COVID-19 situation. The announcement was made today by Chairman Torstein Hagen in a video message and letter sent to currently booked guests with impacted sailings. We believe Viking will be in a better place to provide the experiences our guests expect and deserve after this time and plan to resume operations on May 1, 2020, continuing all further sailings as originally planned.

You too can view Mr. Hagen’s video here: https://www.vikingcruises.com/notice/update-video.html

We will stand by our guests, colleagues and partners in these challenging times and hope that you in turn will stand with us too.

Sincerely,
The Viking Family

Most humorous headline I saw today

A conference on the novel coronavirus outbreak set to be held in New York City was recently cancelled — due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Lots and lots of things are cancelled...the NY AUTO SHOW...SEATTLE schools for 2 wks, COMICCON!!! TV shows with no audiences, sporting events with no body in the stands, folks "working" (yuk yuk) from home, some Senators have "something", the NY Natl Guard cordoning off a section of Westchester, dare I even mention the OLYMPICS??....couldn't list them all and besides I am NOT your local news. hehehe...however, claiming the media has blown it out of proportion is....well....

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been cancelled.. it is a huge Houston tradition, for like 89 years. I believe the Mayor pressured the rodeo people into cancelling it.

Still not going to panic, as I am not a fan of the rodeo and my hands are so clean they are peeling LOL I have faith that in 52 days things will be on the upswing

One advantage of all the precautions is that it also slows down the spread of the regular flu and other contagious diseases.

I hear ya. Now the WHO has declared it a pandemic. Greece and Ukraine has closed schools and universities. German govt has stated that close to 70 percent of their population will be hit by the virus. Even Iceland has several cases. I think it is more than simply washing ones hand (according to a number of posters here and other sites) to contain this virus. Still a lot to learn about this latest virus and things may change but for now.....

Until the cruise is cancelled, I'm going. Ive been planning this trip for 4 years. I dont care if the ship just leaves US waters, and I can drink and use the Casino while aimlessly wandering for 7 days.
