New to cruising?

If you are a "lurker" and have questions, come on out of the shadows and ask away. The one thing I miss about my previous "home" forum is the opportunity to help newbies.

These are friendly folks here, and I haven't seen rudeness or condescension. If it happens, I would bet it won't be tolerated.

It's a great opportunity you have here--lots of knowledge about different ports, cruise lines, air travel, excursions. You name it and someone here probably has lots of knowledge to share.

Don't feel silly about asking anything. Heck, I asked AuntPinkie what a cucumber sandwich was, and she kindly answered me without making me feel like a total loser. And that's a pretty dumb question Big Smile

We could always resurrect the rice cooker debateSurprised

Xxadarksoulxx - Just came back from an Alaska trip in September -- it was great! Just don't expect it to be anything like a Caribbean cruise!

I refuse to sacrifice sarcasm

then again, we don't get as many stupid questions around here..

I can understand, we visit the Rockies often and have no plans to go to Alaska even though the cruise ports are close by.

Classy? Forget it - casual and fun is better.Happy

That's tempting, but Alaska is not on my bucket list. Plus they like things a little classier than DH and I LOL

Hey kewwest1, why don't you cruise with them? I'd drive over to Vancouver or Seattle to say Hi.

Hey, we like excitement :) What ship are you sailing on? My sister and her DH and a couple of friends will be on the Carnival Legend mid-May.

I guess I've been lurking but I really don't have any questions, just excitement for the Alaskan Cruise I'm going on in May!

BonMike - as I get more mature (Wink), the level of ship that we board on becomes of great import. I really hate it when they zig-zag the gangway up 4 or 5 decks.

Why not design the ship to board the same way we do in port -- at ground level?
