Good ship / bad ship?

Whats the best ship & worst ship you’ve experienced and why?

We have only been on 11 cruises- all with Carnival. We have not been on a bad ship. Have we had some misgivings about food in some areas, yes, but what is not good in one venue can be compensated by going to another so there is no chance of starving. Have had no issues with any crew or staff. Line ups are a pain but it is what it is.Would be interesting what others have to say on the matter.

Cannot say I have ever been on a bad ship. Still love the first ship we were ever on NCL Spirit. But we do love the NCL Jewel class with the Great Outdoors dining area at the very back of the ship on deck 12.

The best for me would be the Royal Princess - I had a forward view cabin with a ridiculously large balcony on an 10 day Southern Caribbean tour.

The worst (although I would still rate it well) was the Carnival Sunshine. It is an older ship with a couple of decks of passenger cabins added, along with some public space removed for more cabins. There was not enough space for the number of passengers and felt crowded.

Can't say we've ever been on a BAD ship...couldn't wait to get off...and I'll withhold judgment on the best, for quite awhile till we finish BREAKAWAY and GETAWAY. Kinda agree re SPIRIT, because of a couple of events in our life going on during two consecutive cruises on, she is the smallest NCL has...kinda least in my memory.

We just didn't like Carnival Triumph. Can't put my finger on exactly what the problem was for us. We sailed her sister ship, Sunshine, and really enjoyed our cruise. The Lido deck seemed more crowded to us. Seating was about three tables deep so you really didn't feel like you were in the thick of things.

We loved Carnival Breeze, so I guess if I must pick a favorite, it would be her. Really, though, the Triumph has been our only disappointment, and we still had a fantastic cruise.

That's my point GrandMAJO...we sailed on TRIUMPH right after the power outage disaster...figured it was the safest ship there...wrong..power flicked off one afternoon...came on in an hour...but....point is, you couldn't put your finger on why it was a disappointment, but "we still had a fantastic cruise.." well then....that's the problem with only can read whats typed...

Bad ship: Carnival Pride....oh goodness, where do I even begin? Not clean, poorly lit with poorly marked ramps.....

Good ship: Right now, Grandeur Of The Seas since I have sailed her 4 times, the most I have ever sailed a cruise ship before. Ship was clean, friendly staff, well lit....complete opposite of The Pride.

But to each their own. Just because I hated The Pride doesn't mean someone else wouldn't love it and vice versa with The Grandeur Of The Seas.

Havent been on Grandeur, but sailed on the Pride...didn't like it, didn't hate it, and wasn't so turned off that we couldn't wait to leave...that has never happened...but...when someone complains about a ship itself, or its amenities, and mentions SPECIFICs like you did..then one ought to pay attention. I agree re moving about the ship wasn't top of the line...looking back, there were poorly serviced meals...noisy kitchen, disorganized staff...looking back NOW, I SHOULDVE been in a hurry to get off...and yet, we weren' then, would I pick that ship, when so many others are available of course not.

The Miracle, she needed a miracle. Loved the cabin, had serious problems on the rest of the ship. At trivia on deck 2, when the ship would pitch, water would stream from the ceiling. Also in the atruim every night 10 pm yellow caution tape would go up and they would rip up the floor tiles. On the Lido deck, part of the retractable roof glass panes were broken. It rained (10 out of 15 days)through that opening and that bar and area had to be closed. I liked the Legend and Pride, not the Miracle. Favorite ship Tropicale, small quaint ship, more crew than passengers.

We haven’t bern on a bad ship yet, but the Carnival Conquest was our least favourite. It was tired looking, and crew were not real friendly except for our room steward and Chloe the CD who was fantastic. Having said that, we are cruising on it again next March. Our favourite ships were the Sunshine and Miracle which others have found to be their least favourite. We loved the layout of those two ships and found them to have plenty of room on the outdoor decks plus we loved the way the Sunshine has guests go to dinner for YTD.
