GETTING READY TO CRUISE...NO BIG DEAL

Actually, we sort of looked at each other...idle conversation..."when dyou want to pack?"..came to the same conclusion..."we're driving to Galveston Fri, we can do it Thursday...we don't need anything..."...we've done it so often its almost routine...used to be, (back in the day) we'd start almost a week before..all kinds of stuff all over...it was a big deal...not anymore...

Living my dream right here!

I would probably still take some swanky threads though, just because I wear a casual utility uniform daily, so i feel the need to class it up when I can.

It does happen - recently did not receive luggage until 5 days in; Airline at fault, not cruiseline. Since I fly very casually dressed, I wasn't able to participate in excursions due to having sandals not closed toe shoes, no swimsuit, etc or gala night in MDR (yoga pants & t shirt not appropriate). So any packing routine really didn't matter...

He11 no. Count downs and anticipation are half the fun.

*points to countdown* is it sad that I already have most of my clothes together, waiting for the suitcase and most of the things that go in my carry-on ready?

We live 35 miles from terminal, we dont dress up for meals, so we pack the day of cruise. Been on same ships, same port, we auto pilot packing

Ha ha.

Lynn is wonderful and full of life

Sounds more like you're a glutton for punishment...you'll probably need a cruise to recuperate....howsumever...glad to report we're packed..still married, and even on speaking terms...will miracles never cease???

Normally, since I leave in less than 60 days, I would be damned near packed.

However, I'm a bit of an Idiot, and thought it would be a great idea to book a trip to Disney World with my wife's family, that returns 26 days prior to our Cruise departure. ::Facepalm::

While a majority of our cruise kit will be going to Florida with us, Disney is not a cruise, so there will be items placed in a basket, and immediately repacked when we return.

To avoid cross packing (and those risky questions), I pack at least one change of clothes in my carryon luggage. Totally agree about packing in good light.

Take two. Why do my replies get deleted? I corrected a typo - and - POOF - gone !! Grrrrrrr

Packing together, ahhh, the possibilities. Does this outfit make me look fat ? (drum roll, please)

When I had a partner, we used to cross-pack a few items so if one bag was misplaced the other had a day or two of clothes. I do have a cruise bag packed with items I only use on a cruise (stainless steel cable luggage tags, two different colored markers - blue, and pink - of course, battery operated candles, laundry pods, water shoes, double sealed baggies, back pack, bathroom scents, extra bathroom items, lotions and potions and other items). PLUS - a hat. Always on my pack list, but I forgot it the last cruise. This balding head is not used to Caribbean sunshine when all it normally sees is New York clouds in the Winter months.

My closet has clothes earmarked for cruises with old departure baggage tags on the hangers.

Always pack in the daylight. You do not need a pair of mismatched socks, or a black and brown shoe that almost match. Hopefully, folks will look at your necklace and earrings, and not your shoes. You Ladies, might experience similar mismatch problems. Closing now, and NOT correcting any typos.
