Does it worsе to take a snorkel set from home?

I will go to the Carribean and I booked the barrier reef snorkel excursion. Do you suggest bringing a snorkeling set from home or it's good enough to rent it on-site?

I usually take my own as I go snorkeling on my own. You can get sets at Wal Mart for about $20.

Why bring your own when you have a chance to rent it, it takes up a lot of your luggage space!

I read it as “Is it worth it”

What do you mean “does it worse”?

We brought our own gear on a couple cruises, but soon decided it wasn’t worth the added weight and space, especially when flying to the cruise. We’ve never had any issues with the gear included in excursions or available to rent.

Will be included in a snorkel tour, but I prefer to take my own snorkel for infection control reasons.

Thank you for all your answers. It was clear for me that I can rent the equipment but after all your suggestions I will probably bring my own set.

Absolutely this. The only caveat I would add is: if you have quality equipment, or you're worried about sanitation or damaged/faulty equipment, I would recommend to bring your own if you have the space. We have the full face masks with the snorkel that comes out the top, and love using them for their visibility and ease of use.

Bringing your own does take up more luggage space, but if you really like your personal gear bring it. We were on a cruise that we booked 3 snorkeling excursions, and every one was cancelled due to rough water. So lugged two sets of masks/snorkels and fins for nothing. Personal preference.

My mask has prescribed vision correction in it so I bring my own.
