Carnival Cruiser trying Royal Caribbean first time!

Hi Cruisers, just booked our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. Love Carnival but finally have to try Royal Caribbean.

Going on Liberty of the Seas, Sept 2-9, 2018 out of Galveston, Texas.

Anything we need to know that differs from Carnival??

Thanks, hope to see you cruisin' one day!

We really enjoyed our cruise on Liberty of the Seas out of Miami back in 2010. You will enjoy this cruise, lots of shows and things to do. Have a great cruise.

We sailed on Liberty about 10 years ago and had a blast. We've done several Carnival cruises and have enjoyed ourselves on each one. Royal offered a different experience that we also enjoyed. Will be doing another RCCL sailing in the near future. Explore the ship and have fun.

Thanks have to agree Carnival has great food. Hopefully RCCL will rise to the challenge🛳

RC was OK but we liked the food better in Carnival.

Hoping to try RCCL in November will hope to still enjoy both lines.

Thanks for the replies. Main reason to switch to RCCL was always wanted to try their ships and this was a great price. Really looking forward to it!

Have no experience with any other cruise line but with that being said I would cruise any other line if the price was right.

I think that you will find a big difference. Enjoy your cruise.

I wrote a blog post about this very topic. Though I haven't done both, I did some research into the differences and here is what I found:

I think Carnival gets a bad rap as a "party until you drop" cruise line, because of the short 3-4 day cruises. Most of the other cruise lines do not offer as many short cruises as Carnival and the short ones tend to be the over the top type sailings. I've not sailed RCI so I cannot in good conscious compare the two on that level. I have friends that have done both and say they are comparable when it comes to "party animals" on seven day sailings.
