A sad day for cruising in general. this is the second incident like this out of Aus. in a short period. Got to wonder if this is a result of the cruise industry push to get everyone to cruise. Hope not. Maybe just a sign of the times. But it is a sad day when people have their vacation that they dreamed about and saved for spoiled by incidents like this.

There are a lot of things we haven't seen on Carnival that others have, but I agree that it is a sad day.Crying

I have cruised on Carnival 22 times , I never saw this before, a sad day for Carnival Crying

Well said!

Wow, Australia? you say? I really miss a good Donnybrook..... There is nothing like a good old fashion bar fight to cement lifelong friendships. I saw the news article... They need to hire better bouncers.... What did Patrick Swayze say in Road House? " Always be nice, always be polite--until it's time not to.......Happy

Carnival doesn't take quick action people will think they can get away with more and more. In the future the captain needs to take charge and act or people will quit cruising with them.

Well said! Hopefully, this will be a one off sort of thing. When one considers all the sailings and all the people that have sailed on Carnival, it is not a common occurrence. If it happens more because of this incident, I agree that there may be more caution from many cruisers. This one time probably, will not affect sales.

I believe with the amount of alcohol consumed on a cruise there is always a danger of this kind of thing. The crew should have removed them at the first sign of trouble. I am sure what keeps this from happening under most circumstances is the fear of being tossed off at the next port. If Carnival doesn't take quick action people will think they can get away with more and more. In the future the captain needs to take charge and act or people will quit cruising with them.

Maybe they considered that it was a family and therefore a "family matter". But I agree, that they should have been kicked off at the first sign of trouble not days later.

Definitely does not instill confidence in the captain. He is supposed to be in control of the ship and ultimately he is the one responsible for everything that happens on the ship. For something to be allowed to go for days and fester would indicate that the people that were supposed to be in charge were ignoring the issues hoping they would blow over. I am quite surprised that this was allowed to go as long as it went before something was done.

Or don't sail with crazies...oops no way to know that. Is that why you are not going with us in Sept.?Wink (I warned you I would nag a bit!)
