The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
There were some good parts, some not so good parts. This was our second Celebrity cruise and were really looking forward to it based on our last Celebrity cruise. This cruise did not live up to our expectations. Based on what we paid for this cruise, what we got, and how we currently feel, we may not book Celebrity again in the future.

Another Great Royal Caribbean Cruise
Overall, it was a good cruise. We had already planned our next cruise but booked a December cruise while onboard.

After a dozen Royal Caribbean cruises, this wasn't the best. The ups: the food, entertainment and accommodations were mostly very good. The downs: service was the worst we've received. We had to get the dining manager involved. After that, the service was back to what we were used to. But complaining made us feel bad. We didn't want to feel bad on our vacation. When we were checking out, we found a shelf we hadn't used full of potato chips and crumbs. We hadn't eaten any chips. We booked our next cruise and realized later that he had booked the wrong cruise. Now we have to change it. We ran into a lady in the shop who asked us about what we thought as seasoned RCCL travelers. This was her first RC cruise and she was not impressed. I told her not to base the entire line on this ship. Another woman heard us and agreed with me and this was her 18th RC cruise. So it wasn't just us.

Independence of the Seas

Cruise tips
We got to the port the night before and didn't do any tours before they picked us up at the hotel the next morning.
In La Spezia, one of our choices was Pisa. People go to Pisa for one basic thing: see the Leaning Tower. We got to Pisa and they took us on a boat ride to downtown Pisa on the Arno. By the time we got to the Tower, we didn't have time to see the Cathedral or Baptistry that are with the Tower. We would have like more time in downtown Pisa.
Probably the best tour we had. Our tour guide was excellent. her name was Alesa. She showed us all kinds of things, gave us time to visit, she had a huge store of knowledge. She has a Masters Degree so she could be a better tour guide. We loved this port.
We had an excursion. We got to the theater on time and we were sent to the tender. After the tender, we went to the boat to take us to the boat. Then we sat for an hour or so. But they did not add an hour to our tour. We were supposed to go to Genoa. We got to Genoa, drove around a bit, we got out and walked around 1 block and had just a few minutes of free time. We were all gypped out of time. The cruise line gave us 50% back. Probably not enough, but we were tired of fighting by that time.
We did not take an excursion at this port. We walked around. The port is easily walkable. We found the fort, which was very interesting. we found some great food and drink too.
This was our disembarkation port. We took the bus to the train station. That was it.
A good tour, lots of information. We had previously been to Split, but didn't take a tour, so this filled in a lot of gaps.
We had a good time in this port. They took us to Budva. We stopped for a snack, Montenegran prosciutto, cheese, bread, and a drink. Then we had a wonderful lunch in the old town. We could have used a little more free time, but we were able to get what we want to do done.
Celebrity Constellation
Get a room midship. The fore and aft elevators were both convenient.

The port itself was lacking, but our excursion was excellent.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
The airport pickup was confusing, long, and unpleasant. I hope it is better in the future. Usually, we find someone in the baggage claim area with an RCCL sign so we know you are there and they tell us where to go. This time we had to wander further and further from the baggage area until we found the transfer folks.
Weather kept us from this port.
