This was a relaxing trip. The ports of call were interesting and easy to navigate. Our Neptune Suite service was gracious. The Zuiderdam is a lovely ship with nice amenities and a very helpful staff.

This is one of the smaller Neptune Suites, but it has a huge balcony. In sum, a great cabin for two.
We took public transportation to the Pulpit Rock hike. It was a great day and we saved a ton. The ferry/bus cost us $35 each and gave us an extra 45 mins in the park before the crowds arrived.
We rented a car here. I might suggest a tour, though. The roads are single lane, two way, and difficult to navigate. Check out Trip Advisor for better ideas.
We booked a WOW Scotland tour. Gordon was an extraordinary guide. I would highly recommend this company. They schedule the tour .... with a great lunch .... to coincide with the cruise schedule.
Take the train into Edinburgh. Then walk to what you might like to visit. Otherwise, hail a cab. We had Hop On Hop Off bus tickets, but they don't run nearly enough busses for their customers.
Take the free shuttle from the port into town where you can then take the train into the city. It's a very nice city. Visit St. Nicholas' cathedral and the castle. Meander about the city and enjoy the architecture.
