Review summary

We totally enjoyed our weeklong cruise to Alaska from Vancouver. The ship’s crew were excellent - helpful, personable and eager to make our stay memorable. The room was amazing and the weather slowed us to enjoy our balcony throughout the trip. Our favorite hangouts were the crow’s nest (with spectacular views) and the ocean bar (with a great live band). The pinnacle restaurant is worth the splurge for fine dining at its best. Given our total experience, I know we will be cruising somewhere in the world again soon!

Our suite was very nice. There was room to relax, and plenty of closet space. It was cleaned to perfection several times a day. We were conveniently located near the stairs and elevator, but had absolutely no issues with hallway noise inside our cabin. Only wish our exterior balcony glass was a bit cleaner for viewing while seated on the terrace.

Ship tip

Take advantage of all areas of the ship - from the crow’s nest in the front, to the ocean bar mid ship, to the lido pool area, to the library/game room in the explorer lounge, to the main dining room in the back.

City, itself was not so impressive. But the excursion to kayak within sight of the glacier was exciting.

Skagway, Alaska

The small city is a bit “cruise line touristy”. But the round trip train ride up the mountain is worth the price for the views.

Cruise Glacier Bay

Highlight of the trip! Even with a slight drizzle, we ventured outside for views of multiple glaciers.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We enjoyed this town better than the others. We walked the salmon trail on our own. Nicer local art and craftsman jewelry stores here than other places we visited.

Disembarkation

Everything was organized and orderly. While we close a later time to leave the ship to savor every moment of our vacation, we found that waiting for a later departure was not really worth it. Everything is closed and waiting our turn was not as enjoyable as we thought it would be.
