Review summary

Overall a very fun cruise. Smaller ship with an older quieter clientele. Ship is super clean and looked brand new. Beautiful art and sculpture through. Lots of space to get away and be alone. Beautiful scenery and the ports were great. Enjoyed the break from Carnival and enjoyed a relaxing week. Only big issue was the quality of food.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarked in Montreal and it was pretty easy although since Zaandam only has 1400 passengers it wasn’t crowded. Montreal was awesome and a great place to visit and spend a few days before your cruise. Like being in Europe with the long flight.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Main Dining Room food was awful. Served lukewarm at best and the quality was terrible. Can’t think of one thing that was even medium quality. Just blech. Pinnacle Grill: Ate their one night and it was very good. Service was below par. Canaletto: Very good. Dive in burgers were good. Fries A+ Lido Buffet: Ok.

Cabin / Stateroom

Typical HA OV cabin. Don’t know why the bed is directly under window. Would be much better against a side wall like Carnival.
