Review summary

A great cruise from Montreal to Boston via the St Lawrence River. Canada's Maritime provinces are beautiful and interesting. Great weather the entire time!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Large cabin with a large balcony, complete with chaise lounges. Cabin also had a full size sofa to stretch out on (probably for a 3rd person). The bathroom was also roomy, and it came with a small jacuzzi bathtub (it was more convenient and quicker for us to use the shower). The only drawback was the teeny, tiny flat screen TV monitor, but it did come with ESPN and the popular news networks.

Ship tip

It's a small ship, so it doesn't matter where your cabin is located. You don't have to walk very far to get from the aft dining room to the forward theater!

Ports of call

Montreal, Quebec

We were here during the International Jazz Festival (we stayed 3 blocks away). Great music every night. We also did the Hop On, Hop Off shuttle for 2 days so saw a lot of the city, although you can get to the same places via subway as well (which is underground). We felt this was a very safe city.

Make sure you look out for the dolphins and small whales near the end of the St Lawrence River.

Quebec City, Quebec

A great walking city! We were disappointed that the waterfront Farmer's Market had moved.

Cruise Gulf Of St. Lawrence

Foggy nights. The ship's foghorn was regularly sounded. It wasn't too wavy though.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Nice town to walk around. Make sure you visit the Anne of Green Gables house & hiking trails as well as the seashore cliffs.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

We drove the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton National Park. Beautiful scenery. Lots of lobster traps out there!

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Historical city with the Citadel, the Titanic Cemetery, the Public Garden, and Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. Nice waterfront walking path next to the ship. Lots of old churches and cemeteries in the middle of town.

Bar Harbor, Maine

Don't do an excursion here in Acadia National Park during 4th of July Weekend. Our mini excursion van was not allowed to go up to the top of Cadillac Mountain due to the congestion up there! Walking around town was interesting. Lots of old summer mansions, some churches & cemeteries, a large city park, restaurants and ice cream shops!

Boston, Massachusetts

Didn't do an excursion here because we visit here at least 3 times a year to visit the grandchildren.

Disembarkation

The Customs tasks were done onboard the ship, before we docked in Bar Harbor, so the line moved very fast.
