Review summary

Overall this was a great vacation. Got to spend time with my parents and boyfriend and really enjoyed the view as well as the area we visited. Disappointed that shore excursions were cancelled and could not re-book. I understand weather related cancellations but that was only 1 of the 3. The excursions we did take were great! and all of the locals and cruise staff were friendly and personable.

Embarkation

Pretty easy and organized

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Perhaps they were a little light on staffing as some meals were better than others as far as the service went. Some dinners went quickly and others were painfully slow. Especially the first night in the Pinnacle Grill. Some of the dishes were excellent and others were just okay.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Seemed as though there was enough for everyone to do to keep us entertained in the evening and on our cruising day. Bingo, classes at the gym, the shows, and music!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Decent entertainment. Not the best I have seen on a cruise but still delightful and fun to watch.

Cabin / Stateroom

perfect little suite. a lot of storage and nice to have a desk and couch for extra comfort. great balcony too!!

Ship tip

Stop at The Stadium restaurant in Bar Harbor for THE BEST blueberry pie. And if you eat at The Pinnacle Grill make sure you get the candied bacon appetizer : )

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts Did not visit port

Flew in but did not get to visit the city. went straight from the airport to the ship

Bar Harbor, Maine

Beautiful area and plan to come back to explore more. unfortunately our excursion was cancelled at the last minute but we were able to find an alternative that still got us a quick glimpse of the Park. Lots of cute shops and eateries. The Stadium restaurant has THE BEST blueberry pie and the nicest owner.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Very nice town. Took an excursion to the Bay of Fundy and had a great experience!! Bus broke down on the way back to the ship but Holland America was able to have back up buses sent to pick us up in no time at all.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

Had 2 different excursions cancelled on us. One before the trip started and one the day before. Tried to reschedule but all of the good excursion were already booked. Stayed in town and that was a waste. Not a tourist town at all. Took a walk around and visited a local bar that at least had some good live music and delicious poutine.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Cruise Gulf Of St. Lawrence

I'm never that excited to have a day at Sea but I try to make the best of it by enjoying some on-board activities. Hit the gym and played some bingo.
