Dont sail if you plan on anything active to do. There isnt anything.
Check the cruise compass before sailing.
If youre the type to have fun sitting and being inactive. This would be perfect for you. If you like doing things and physical activity. This aint the one. You will be bored to death.
unless you're taking this cruise because you got to bargain and it's your first time and you just want to see how cruising is, I would not book a cruise on this ship.
Even in 15-foot swells, the ship barely rocked. Our sailing was interrupted by Hurricane Fiona and we had rough seas because of it. But, because of the size of the ship, the stabilizing fins, and the stabilizer pods, the rocking was barely noticeable at all--great technology!
Main dining room was open for breakfast and sometimes for lunch as well, if you want to avoid the crowd at Windjammer. Check the Cruise Compass for the schedule.
I would not sail on this particular ship. It's showing age, and if there are no outdoor activities available, as on a caribben voyage, there is little room for indoor. Too small indoor space for the size of the passengers when weather is cold and rainy.
Remember that this is not the cruising of 20 years ago. The ship is beautiful and grand but you are serving 3000+ people. The staff do an incredible job attempting to make everyone happy. For the price we paid the cruise was incredible.
The one thing cruise lines do that really upset me is NICKLE AND DIME you the entire trip. If you go in expecting it maybe it won't be so disappointing, but for budget conscious travelers this is really an unnecessary stressor that the cruise line could eliminate by making truly all inclusive options (wifi, waters, drinks) and NO COFFEE MAKERS IN THE STATEROOMS? WHY??? The first cruise line who starts offering all this at one competitive cost upfront will earn my business forever and I think many others would agree.
Be prepared for minimally trained staff. Some were incredible (Charmaine), others were clueless (guest services staff).
Bring documentation of any OBC you are supposed to receive...seems many are not credited, we saw pages of missing OBC requests when we inquired about ours.
