The South Pacific is a great itinerary for your first cruise. If you can afford it go Junior Suite you get great benefits.

I would warn them about the Windjammer. Even getting there early does not mean you will get a seat.

Just really have a fantastic time- whatever you choose to do. Make the best of your fabulous cruise.

Be prepared for LOTS of children (even outside school hols) who are allowed to run around, prank calls, pressing all the lift buttons, knocking on doors and running up and down stairs etc. Children are allowed in adult venues until midnight! This definitely affected our enjoyment of the cruise. No one did anything about the unruly children, both staff and security ignored it all, not sure why. There were also some very polite and well behaved children on board of course, bu tit is the unsupervised ones that are the issue. There was lots for kids to do as well as kids club, so it is the parents who perhaps just left them to their own devices, but this really needs to be addressed somehow. Voyager is old and we would not sail on her again for reasons of the above plus cleanliness and run down toilets.

This is a great ship with great service. 1) Check your dinner reservations as soon as you get onboard. We always ask for a set time with a table of 6 or more people. This time they got it right but often they don't. 2) Bring a small carry-on bag with dress clothes for dinner and your swimsuit fir the pool just in case your luggage doesn't arrive before supper.

Should you experience a problem on the ship, politely let guest services or your cabin steward know. I was more than happy with all staff that I came across.

DO NOT USE THE LAUNDRY WE SPENT $58.50 US$ OUR LAUNDRY CAME BACK WITH ALL THE WHITES OFF WHITE & 2 POLO SHIRTS SHRUNK & 2 BURN TYPE MARKS ACROSS THE BACKS. VERY DISSAPPOINTED. THERE IS NO LAUNDRY ON BOARD FOR CUSTOMER USE.

Make sure you check your account on the tv on a regular basis to ensure you are spending within your limits. A friend went on prior to myself and her kids racked up $600 in credit at the archade and she didn't realise until the 7th day.

Take magnetic hook to hang washing line & hangers on. Walls & ceilings are metal

Wait until it after it has been dry docked for a good refit.

It's a lovely ship, but people thinking about cruising on her should be comfortable around loads of people and not mind the extensive smoking areas.

Bring multi strip with usb plugs to plug in all your gadgets

DO NOT TRUST ROYAL CARIBBEAN NOR CHEAP CRUISES ON YOUR VISA NEEDS. UNBELIEVABLY, THEY ARE NOT FULLY AWARE OF ALL VISA NEEDS WHEN CALLING BEFORE THE CRUISE. WE HAD TO BE DISEMBARKED BEFOREHAND BECAUSE OF LACKING DOCUMENTATION DESPITE ASKING THEM IN ADVANCE FOR WHAT WAS NEEDED, AND RECEIVING WRONG INFORMATION.

Avoid windjammer cafe on your embarkation. Hardly to find event a single seat. No one would gave their seat because the room still not ready so, they just hang out there. Less rotation.
