Generally an enjoyable vacation. We were avoiding our winter and definitely enjoyed the warm weather! The Voyager is a midsized ship, which we like. Most of the ports were great. The only port we didn't enjoy was Noumea. Vanuatu and Isle of Pines exceeded our expectations and would like to visit again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth embarkation! No delays or lines since we are diamond plus members! Love it!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The dining room food and service is top rate! The Windjammer could be more efficiently cleaned during table turnover. The food in the windjammer is good.
Windjammer Marketplace
4 out of 5
Generally very good but was disappointed when ran out of chocolate soft yogurt. The tables need to be cleaned more efficiently.
Johnny Rockets
5 out of 5
Only went here for milkshakes/malts but they were fabulous!
Schooner Bar
4 out of 5
Love this area but it is way too small for trivia contests!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the pool, trivia contests, flow rider and walking/running track. Please don't use the Schooner bar fir trivia. It is too small for the amount of people that attend!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
There were only two shows I did not enjoy, the juggler and the U.K. Comedian. The orchestra is first rate!! So glad you still maintain a live orchestra. The singers and dancers were some of the best on RC ships! Most of the headline shows were exceptional!
Concierge Club
4 out of 5
Pretty was so very helpful! The concierge club seems to be an after thought...the location is tucked in the middle with no view....seems It is not as nice a venue for your long standing members! The diamond club was much nicer. I realize there are more diamond members than those in the concierge club.
Theater
5 out of 5
Generally, the theatre is quite nice but some of the seats were broken so maintenance should be improved. At times, the balance of sound is off. The band would sometimes overpower the singer(s). Louder is not necessarily better! I know...I'm a musician!
Library
4 out of 5
The library is a nice venue for peace and quiet. I like all the books and games.
Studio B
5 out of 5
Mind boggling how these wonderful performers can do what they do on such a small ice surface! Wonderful shows!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I am always very impressed with the service in all areas of the RC ships! I did notice in the Star Lounge that the waiters were a bit slower returning with our drinks and cards.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The layout if the ship was pretty standard and seems to be aging. When we first arrived we noticed the sheets were clean but stained. The room attendant changed them very quickly when shown to her. We also noticed the pool towels are very ragged and stained, too. The attendants keep the areas as clean as they can but the wear and tear is starting to show.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We are prepared for the small size but I don't know how larger people handle it! It was tough to get into the bed because the couch was practically touching the end of the bed! This room didn't have a small table, like in the past, but that is probably better for space. It is very hard to use the hair lower with it tethered to the back if the drawer! It is like using a bungee cord while drying my hair! Lol
Ship tip
This is a great ship with great service.
1) Check your dinner reservations as soon as you get onboard. We always ask for a set time with a table of 6 or more people. This time they got it right but often they don't.
2) Bring a small carry-on bag with dress clothes for dinner and your swimsuit fir the pool just in case your luggage doesn't arrive before supper.
Good for shopping and walking around. The local market was very interesting even though we can't buy anything to bring on the ship. The people are very friendly!
If you are looking for a beach this is not the place but it is a great plac to walk around. The wild life is interesting....we saw lots of huge fruit bats (flying fox) on the Presidential grounds, tons of tiny crabs of interesting colours on the shore and interesting vegetation in Thurston Gardens. They also have an interesting fish market, again, with very friendly Fijians!
Beautiful! We took the water taxi (highly recommend) and walked along the shoreline. It was a holiday here so many shops were closed. We watched kids having swim races set up on the ocean with noodles as lanes. The water was gorgeous!
Did not enjoy this port. Many shops were closed due to a protest and those that were open, the owners were not very helpful and seemed to have attitude. It was also very expensive here. Where the ship is docked is not very nice. It is a shipping dick so you have to take a bus (free) into town.
Good. We take our own luggage off with us whenever we can now since our luggage was lost one time and caused us much stress! The Sydney port is a very easy port for disembarking.
