This was our 1st cruise back after the Covid shutdown and we had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and the specialty restaurants ere excellent. We just don’t remember the food being so average in the main dining room and bad in the windjammer.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We went to Chops and Giovanni’s 2 times each for dinner and the food and service was great! We had dinner in the dining room 3 nights and it was a hit and miss for us there. The windjammer was not good. This is the first cruise we took after the restart of the industry because of Covid. It just seems like the food quality has definitely gone down except for the specially dining.
Windjammer Marketplace

The food in the windjammer was not good. We’ve been on quite a few cruises and always enjoyed going the the windjammer to eat throughout the cruise. The food was very bland and just not good.

Service and Staff

Our room attendant was one of the best we’ve had in sometime. The overall attitude of the workers on the ship was very positive.
Ship Quality

The ship was very clean, but was definitely showing its age
Cabin / Stateroom

We love the size of the junior suites on this class of ship because of the space that you have inside to move around and also the big walk-in closets. The only downside is the ship is showing its age.
This is our favorite place to visit in the Caribbean. We rented a golf cart and did our own thing. The golf carts are $100 for the day and make sure you make reservations as soon as you know you are going there to be able to get one. We really enjoy this island because it’s extremely safe, beautiful and the the people. We usually snorkel here but skipped that this time.
We’ve been to San Juan many times and enjoy leaving from this port. We usually go down early so we have a night or two to enjoy the city. We did a food tour with Flavors of Old San Juan and had a great time. They are very personable and make sure you’re having a great time. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the island, and was just downright fun to be around. It was worth every penny. The food was great and we went to five or six different places trying different foods and drinks. We stayed at the Casablanca Hotel which is in the middle of everything. We’ve been here many times, and enjoy this hotel.
We did the called the Flying Dutchman. It was not the greatest of experiences. The chairlift up was nice with great views. Once you get up top the have 3 smaller zip lines you take 1st. The views are simply beautiful but the harness they put you in is not good. My wife and I thought we were going to loose parts of our private parts. This was so uncomfortable you just wanted to get to the other side to stand up. They take that off of you thank God and you walk up to the main zip line. We are praying we don’t have to experience that again and the good news is this harness is extremely comfortable. You sit right down in it like a chair. We thought this was great until we went down the mountain backwards. No matter what we tried to do to turn around nothing worked. It was a big let down. This was happening to others
This is another one of our favorite place to visit. Again extremely safe and the people are very friendly. We always eat dinner on the island and the restaurants are really good. Make sure you make reservations as soon as you know you are going. You can take a cab or ride the bus to the Palm beach area and there’s great shopping and places to eat there.
We usually make sure we get off early to avoid the crazyness but we had a really late flight so we got off later than usual. This put us in the middle of it all. This is something we always do and it’s a pro tip. Get a porter for your luggage and you will get out extremely quick. Most people tip them $2 dollars a bag but I like to give them quite a bit more because worth it and they have the ability of getting us out of the craziness quickly. Not only do you jump the huge lines of people waiting to get out with their bags through customs he’ll also get you a cab. We were literally sitting in the cab leaving in about 10 minutes time.
I do believe that the MDR food quality has gone down following the Covid outbreak and cruise shutdowns. I hope this trend will reverse at some point soon!
Appreciate your feedback. Sadly, it seems the food has taken a major hit across the industry. Multiply your expenses from home and the supply chain. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of the hiccups.
