We have booked a trip to Singapore next year on the Ovation. We will check out the evening programming first before the final payment. Seriously considering another cruise line (Sorry).
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Being Platinum we should have been fast tracked. Only the diamond members were fast tracked. Why?
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The service was very good as usual. There were no cold soups this time and they were missed. You need to put salmon back on the dinner menu more frequently. The desserts tasted like they were made from a packet. We gave up ordering them.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The organisation for dinner and the shows were totally out of whack. Previously, we were able to go to the early show and then have 15 minutes to walk down to dinner. Before the show we were able to have a dance. Not this cruise.
We belong to a dance group and have always recommended Royal Carribean. We were embarrassed this time because the only dancing during the day was outside the Pig and Whistle. My wife’s knees are still playing up after dancing on brick tiles. Not good. On previous ships there was dancing in the lounge areas before dinner. You need to changed this back.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were very good. The ice skating was spectacular and world class.
The Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers were also excellent.
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
Children were on the dance floor in the Star lounge at 10 pm at night. Dancers will not go on the floor with young kids because it is dangerous for them both. Have a rule that kids should not be at any of the functions after 10 pm.
We saw one 2 year old boy draining drinks left on the floor while mum and dad were partying on. Not a great look.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The staff were lovely. Could not fault them. Well done.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Move the smokers away from the ice cream. Otherwise it works well.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Great. The cabin attendant was very friendly and nothing was a problem.
Ship tip
Don’t do it if you are a dancer. The evening programming is very poor.
Probably had a large group of diamond and where looked after first as they are diamond 🤷♀️there are plenty of ships and destinations to choose from ? with complaints and expecting things to change you should email the company and follow it through as the with the cruise ship company this is not a company page ? but again good luck with that one !! so nothing will be done by a whinge on here just move ship companies and enjoy don’t expect changes just to suit as that’s not going to Happen...
Ovation Of the Seas caters for dancers because they have professional dance classes every day & the teachers encourage people to join them in the evening at certain venues where dancing is & where the students can practice what they learned every day. They also did a flash dance performance one late afternoon to the delight of fellow unsuspecting passengers. The teachers are very approachable any time for further instruction & help too. You will love it being with others who enjoy to dance as you do.
