Ultra loud, screaming music everywhere all tyhe time. by kissimmee2014

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

All guest services are in the Centrium where ultra loud music plays forcing guests to lean over the counter and shout to be heard. Very demeaning and unsophisticated to guest and staff. Anyone working here for any length of time will develop hearing loss. Pool deck was useless and very loud music was always present and the stench of cigarette and cigar came across the area. Cruise director seems to believe everyone on the cruise was or wanted to be twenty something. Average age on this cruise I would estimate to 60 to 65. After this experience we have decided to never cruise again.

Barcelona by nano2jtkk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Ship was nice, great staff. Suggest they have shore information at gangway before people get off the ship. My second sailing on this ship within four months. Disappointed they didn't have lobster on the menu for formal night (had to pay extra)

Good music, shows and activities. We were VERY pleased to have Father Matthew Donnell on board and have daily masses. Hope to see a priest on board on every Transatlantic cruise from now on.

Not our best cruise by RCCLfans

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Wonderful experience, except for the massage. Royal Caribbean is our only cruiseline and we are diamond members. Just very disappointed in the spa and pain.

Amazing experience! by cayce16149078

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was an amazing experience. We have five children and have so much time (21 years) trying our hardest to be good parents. This was a reminder of how important it is to work on being best friends to each other. We had a blast together and plan on doing this again soon.

Te sad old boat that just wouldn't go. by JorgeFlorez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Vision of the seas is an old vision of the past, not retro-cool, just old. Old enough for the engine not to start. I will try to be short and assertive, honest and willing to give you future traveler a good advise. And it doesn't end good. Vision of the seas is an old boat built in 1998, so there is a very strong risk that something goes wrong; in our experience the problem was that the boat did not depart on schedule. It was supposed to leave at around 6:00 pm, and really departed to Cozumel Mexico at 2:00 am, and it was because the engine wouldn't start... Yes; sad old boat just wouldn't go; and of course we arrived 7 hours late to Cozumel, bye bye come and experience the pyramids because we were in the island for 4 sad hours. One hour to go, one to return, and 2 hours to see whatever you can because we had to go back or the boat will leave you there. Yes, another sad true, it's ok that they are late, but not us of course, they are very strict with our time, after all, we are just the clients, they are not important, are we? So you see me dear traveler, they did not try to make it up for the time, they needed to fix their agenda, and they just did not care if they did that with our time, our precious golden time. Of course it was not our mistake, it was not our problem, but we sure provided our vacation time to fix it. Just a few other details, the tripulation is honestly willing to serve you, they are nice. The boat is old but clean, well maybe not the carpet with chocolate and old gum sticked into it, but is overall just ok. If I were you, I will pick a newer boat. You don't want to get stuck in the middle of the ocean do you? PS, Internet is as slow as the boat.

I've always had good experiences overall on Royal Caribbean. Even though I have from time to time cruised with a different line I always come back because Royal Caribbean continues to be the best value for my travel dollar.

Very Disappointing by MelCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We thought we were upgrading this time by cruising with Royal Caribbean instead of Carnival. We were very wrong. The ship had very little to do as far as activities and restaurants/bars, the pool was small & overcrowded, the adult-only Solarium was enclosed and stuffy, the service was awful in comparison to Carnival (the staff seemed miserable like they didn't want to be there, no one ever called us by name like Carnival did, etc.), the food was disappointing and the selection of food venues was inadequate.

It was pleasant and relaxing. I wish there would have been a little more for us to do onboard. Again, a good cruise for a first timer.

Just Okay for First Cruise by renwilson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We took a family cruise during Spring Break for my mom, myself and two daughters (16 and 21). I choose VOS because a well known travel site I use showed a travel deal for VOS. After some research, I booked it. We got to Galveston to explore the city before the cruise. The embarkation went pretty smoothly as we arrived a bit early. However, I noticed several people bringing packages of bottled water and canned sodas onboard. When I asked our check in agent about this since the rules states only 2 bottles of wine are allowed, she said yes we could bring what ever we wanted. So much for following their own rules. Day two was really rocky and many in my family experienced sea sickness due to traveling through a storm that night (we later found out) even despite the bands they wore; many others aboard experienced the same. Apparently this ship is smaller and more dated than some others they have. We had some fun but by day three it became a bit redundant with the same music, trivia games (where winners received RC plastic pens), drunken people stammering every where, and leaving trash for others to pick up behind them. The hot tubs stayed over capacity where guests overstayed a reasonable amount of time and left their drink glasses and other trash. The cruise was not very family or teen oriented; there was little for families with teens to do, young females walked around in scantily clad clothing being loud and using profanity (polite way to say it), the arcade needs a major upgrade and the bars over served guests. Food at the WindJammer was mediocre, the bread stayed hard and they cycled some of the same food out through the next day. Many things are geared for you to pay more combined with additional gratuities for your purchase. Guest services and Facets staff could use more training on customer relations. A lady in Guest Services at night was rude to a staff member right in front of me and the staff in Facets were rude because the agenda showed a champange farewell was to happen in their location. When we got there a bit early, they play the old 'let's play the blame' game because it seemed as if they did not get the memo that the event was to happen there. When I asked about it since I had no idea I was in the correct spot, the female staffer quickly denounced working for the ship and stated she worked for another company and was not in some meeting. What! I just asked if she knew if was held there so i can be sure if i was in the right location. All the while anothe male staffer was rude with his fellow co-worker, rudely stating he was too busy. In sum, I will not be returning to VOS.
