Review summary

We thought we were upgrading this time by cruising with Royal Caribbean instead of Carnival. We were very wrong. The ship had very little to do as far as activities and restaurants/bars, the pool was small & overcrowded, the adult-only Solarium was enclosed and stuffy, the service was awful in comparison to Carnival (the staff seemed miserable like they didn't want to be there, no one ever called us by name like Carnival did, etc.), the food was disappointing and the selection of food venues was inadequate.

The ship had very few restaurants/bars, the food and food selection in the main dining room was sub-par, and the food on the buffet was luke warm and cold by the time it reached my table.

Very small ship, plain & simple decor, always a long wait for the elevators & public restrooms and the restrooms weren't properly maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

We thought we were upgrading this time by cruising with Royal Caribbean instead of Carnival. We were apparently mistaken. Our cabin steward was not friendly, we only had towel-shaped animals one night out of 5. Very unimpressive compared to our cabin Steward on Carnival.

Ship tip

This cruise is for people that don't want to do much - very small, very limited selection of bars/restaurants, more for the non-active retired crowd, no night life, sub-par food & service.

Would be nice to know which carnival ship you took. In your profile it says 0 cruises. I only wonder because maybe you went on a large carnival ship and small Royal Caribbean one? Or vice versa? Just some thoughts.
