If you aren't looking for a lot of bells and whistles you will enjoy the ship.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth. We purchased the Key program and were on the ship in about 20 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Overall the food was good. The menu in the main dining room became a little boring towards the end of the five days as it seemed pretty much the same each evening with a few items changed. Service in the MDR was excellent as well as in the Windjammer.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Standard activities from years past. None of the bells and whistles that you have on the newer ships. We went just to relax so it didn't matter that much for the short cruise.
Gift Shop
1 out of 5
If you want perfume or a watch....great! If you want t-shirts or Royal Caribbean merchandise forget it! Very limited both in choice and size.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Overall the entertainment was good,
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was very polite and the service was very good. No complaints or rude staff.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
I was on the Vision of the Seas two years ago after it's refurbishment but noticed a lot of items that needed some TLC. Around the pool area several areas of the canvass ceiling were torn. Some other areas had worn furniture. Some of the bathrooms smelled from sewer gas.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was O.K. but the first thing I noticed when entering the room that all the mirros and glass had finger prints and remained that way all week. When I went in the bathroom the toilet seat was dirty with toilet paper in the bowl. I also noticed rust about the size of a 50 cent piece on the bottom of the door frame. The bottom of the curtains were torn and the sofa was badly stained.
You definately need to take an excursion. Not much at all around the port. We took the Merida City and Fiesta tour with lunch. I've had better and I've had worse but the lunch was very good. The fiesta part was not very good. Way to many flies. One of the horses tripped and threw the rider. Scared everyone. The singers were not very good.
