Review summary

Lovely experience, but we still enjoy the larger ships even though we never use the water slides. Overall, glad we went on this ship as it has been about 12 years since we were on one of the smaller ships. I guess we just like the many things to do on a big ship.

Embarkation

Friendly staff made embarking experience wonderful. Quick and painless.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Very disappointed in the main dining room service. Very long wait and many times the food was cold. Our main server left after half the cruise and was replaced by a cracker jack guy. Service was better then. Chops Grill was excellent! Would highly recommend. Giovanni's was only so-so and the Windjammer was boring with repetitive.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pool was always very crowded and the hot tubs were postage stamp size. And of course, there is always the chair hogs.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Enjoyed the nightly headliner shows. Never a problem finding a seat.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
With the exception of the poor service in the main dining room, our room attendent was fantastic, as well as the bartenders and other ship personnel. We were upgraded to a grand suite and particularly enjoyed the staff at the conceirge club.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For an older and smaller ship, it was very well maintained. Loved the wood decor in our room.

Cabin / Stateroom

This is a one-bedroom grand suite. We were thrilled to be granted our upgrade. The room was fabulous!

Ship tip

After sailing many of the megaships, don't expect a lot of things to do. This trip was mostly about just relaxing.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We arrived two days ahead of our cruise and stayed the the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. Beautiful!

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We were able to use the private beach for suite patrons. Wonderful service and the beach was sandy and relatively calm.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Just did some walking and shopping around old San Juan. Shop keepers were very courteous.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We did an all inclusive resort for the day. Very enjoyable.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Bus tour of the island. Nice change of pace visiting an old sugar plantation and a place making batik fabric. The views were specatular and I did hold a couple of baby monkeys!

Castries, St. Lucia

4 out of 5
Another day at an all inclusive resort. This time we were provided transportation to and from the cruise port. Enjoyable day.

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
Snorkeling and beach excursion. The fish were amazing! But we wish we had done the one with the lobster lunch!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy to disembark! Many people waiting for Ubers but lots of cabs waiting to be hired. We grabbed a cab in two minutes and were on our way.
