Vision of the Seas

12 Night Mediterranean Greek Isles (Barcelona Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 05, 2019

Ship: Vision of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

Wonderful cruise for adults! I definitely would not bring small children on this itinerary, or ship. I read reviews before I left of children being bored, and nothing going on after 11pm. We were too exhausted after walking all day to do anything after 11pm! This ship does not have the children's play zone or slides.

Embarkation

Very quick and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I think more people are using the "My Time Dining", so the first night there was only me and my husband at our table for 10! The next night we were moved to another table of 10, but we only had 6 of us for the remainder of the cruise. The food in the main dining room was very good, and our head waiter, Walter was funny, charming and upbeat! We ate at the Windjammer for a few lunches - always very good. Chops Grille was excellent as always! We ate dinner there three of the nights and I highly recommend it!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw most of the shows in the atrium, and the Beatles Show. All very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Ikomang, our room steward was wonderful. Our room was always spotless. Walter in the Main Dining Room always upbeat, friendly and asked about our day and ready to give advice for our next port.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I love the layout of the smaller ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved our cabin! Aft Corner - Room 8088. We had a very large corner balcony. We spent every afternoon and evening on our balcony.

Ship tip

Have a great time! Vision is small but mighty! The staff and Cruise Director go the extra mile to make sure you have a good time!

La Spezia, Italy

We loved Florence!

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We went to Vatican City. It is very crowded but definitely worth a visit!

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
We toured the Acropolis. Again very crowded, but also slick and uneven pavement. Wear good, sturdy shoes!

Mykonos, Greece

Absolutely beautiful! we did a beach and sailing excursion.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
Oia is just like the pictures. We were the first ship in port, so some of the shops weren't open yet. But it made all the difference on the crowds! As we were walking back to our bus, 10 other buses or more had parked and hundreds of people were heading in to the small town!

Valletta, Malta

5 out of 5
A lot of history! I did not know much about Malta before this cruise.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast and easy.

Only smaller (aka older) ships can get into some ports, like Venice. We've taken the kids on this ship before and we're looking to do so again next year. If they have the energy to complain about being bored we aren't doing enough in port lol.

That's why we booked with Celebrity.
