Review summary

The boat was great--there are many bars, plenty of balconies to view the ocean, a good track/gym, and the staff were fantastic and down-to-earth. Being a medium-sized boat, you didn't feel the rocking and you didn't get lost in the boat. The staff kept the boat sparkling clean. THere were great deals on the shopping onboard (we found better deals on the ship than in mexico!).

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

we went ot hotel kristal--which the boat doesn't advertise anymore. it's basically free to get in--but you have to buy a $20 voucher per person. the vouchers can be used on food, drinks, and jet ski rentals though. we got to relax on the beach, have drinks and food, and the water was nice and warm. if you want, there are a few pools with swim up bars and a restaurant and restrooms very close by. very nive! beware--just like everywhere else, people come up to you (even while in your chair) and try to sell you stuff. again, like everywhere else, rip off central! unless you go into the city more, the stores close to port and a bit of a rip off. beware!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We didn't get to spend much time at the port because we went on a couple of excursions. the land's end boat tour gave a good scneic boat tour of the area. we also did the power snorkel which was a ton of fun--if you do the snorkelling, don't do the land's end boat tour! The snorkeling trip also takes you on a mini tour in the beginning. Great snorkelling! We even saw whales and dolphins! the port itself wasn't the best--not many food stands (except an overpriced americanized restaurant) and there is only a small area to shop. i'm sure if we had gone into cabo itsef the city would have been more fun.

here we actually got to see what a city looks like in mexico. however, the "new" part of the city where the ship reccomends you to go wasn't my cup of tea. the prices were jacked up--no one would sell me 4 postcards for $1. isn't that the standard rate? we cancelled our city tour and i wish we hadn't--i heard that there was good site seeing in the city itself--full of history, etc basically, if you want a good deal....go to mexico when you're NOT cruising. they are smart and know people will spend an absurd amount of money.

Pros: The food, hands down

Cons: No clock in rooms
