Review summary

This was our first Viking ocean cruise. We did see the northern lights in both Alta and Tromso but due to the storm of the century (winter hurricane in Norway) we were kept in port extra days in Alta and Tromso and eventually taken by charter flight from Tromso to London. Viking was wonderful and worked tirelessly to try to move us as comfortably as possible. Given the unprecedented circumstances they did an outstanding job. The cruise itself given all that, was lovely and we have booked two more Viking ocean cruises.

The spa that included a steM room, cold room ,hot tub, and jacuzzi were outstanding. I was there daily and never full.

Venus is only 3 yrs. old and the entire ship was gorgeous, comfortable and state of the art. Heated floors in bathrooms was dreamy.

Just right size, plenty of storage, very comfortable, great beds and heated bathroom floors and beautiful rooms.

Ship tip

there are washers and dryers self service. If you need soap for sensitive skin you need to bring your own and also softener sheets for dryers

Northern livhts were outstanding. Very small town but delightful to visit.

Wonderful port to visit. Large city with lots to see and do.

Narvik Did not visit port

Storm of the century kept us from leaving Tromso. Had to be chrter flighted out of Tromso to London

Ijmuiden (Amsterdam), Netherlands Did not visit port

Tilbury (London), England Did not visit port

Because of the storm we were flown into Luton airport north of London and bussed to Heathrow
