This was a magnificent tour! The attention to detail with Viking is what always makes it the BEST. This was not our first..and nor will it be our last..already trying to decide where next?!!

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food is excellent wherever you eat. Our favorite was Manfredi's of course! The food in all the restaurants was fresh and prepared in a delicious manner. We only had excellent experiences with each restaurant and bar.
We frequented the Explorer Lounge most often for our pre-dinner cocktails and had excellent service. The Atrium bar after dinner was a nice place to go and have a craft cocktail while listening to music.

Cabin / Stateroom

I am not sure I can ever go back to a Veranda Suite!?! This was a beautiful and very spacious room and so quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed it and Josephine our cabin attendant was excellent in keeping up with us.
Ship tip
You don't need to pack as much as you are! There are no formal nights on these cruises, just nice cruise wear. Bring good walking shoes, hat, sunglasses for all the tours...and enjoy
We did the Acropolis and Plaka by foot tour. great tour..lots of walking
We chose to eat off the ship this evening (easy taxi ride) and found a great little harbor restaurant to enjoy local food.
I LOVED everything about Santorini - but it's the views you go for ! The blue domed buildings against the white architecture is stunning. Stop at the top for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine ( Santorini is known for their crisp white wines)
We did the tour of ancient Olympia and the Greek food tour.
The tour of old ancient Olympia was a bit of disappointment..most of the original structures are gone..there are ruins..and they are in the process of reconstructing the old temples/monuments. I think we should have gone to see where the Olympic torch is ignited during each Olympic year..we did not see on this tour. The Greek lunch was on the other hand- fabulous..with lots of great food and wine and authentic Greek dancing. Lots of fun and audience involvement in making Greek lunch favorites.
We did Corfu in 4x4..and my husband had the best Father's Day driving our own Jimmy jeep up the mountain and 25 hairpin turns! There were 16 jeeps following each other up the mountain led by our leader. We stopped at a small village at the top and had a delightful light lunch and a little shopping for local olive wood products from local artisan. A great choice for the day trip
The port of Kotor was breathtaking.. the mountains surrounding the tiny port town and blue sapphire waters. We tooth Highlights tour which was a good overall look at the area. We were able to go into the city and have dinner off the ship this night and had a wonderful meal at Konoba Scala Santa. Make a reservation to sit outside!
We did a tour of the small quaint towns around Dubrovnik and had a wonderful tour guide you gave us time off to wander on our own visiting one of the small waterside towns. We were also able to get a private taxi when we returned to ship to make a quick trip into the old walled city of Dubrovnik - which is where Game of Thrones had many scenes ( the crowds inside the city proved this to be a popular spot!)
Another beautiful port.. we took the 50minute trip over to the National park to see the beautiful waterfalls. The trip did NOT disappoint! The self guided walk down along the water and its many babbling brooks and both small and large impressive waterfalls made it worth the hike back up the hill (be forwarned LOTS of steps back out of park)
We chose the Panoramic Slovenia Coast & Farmers market tour. It was beautiful and picturesque day. We enjoyed great views and great food and wine. Our tour guide Ande' was one of the best...very knowledgeable..and funny!
Opting not to do the Viking add on ..we did this final stop on our own and spent 2 night at the Bel Sito e Berlino just off St. Mark's Square. Lovely hotel and Venice was beautiful. The hotel arranged for a private late afternoon
( 5:30pm) private taxi tour of the waterways of Venice. It was by far the best deal in all of Venice! 2 full days in Venice was great!
