Review summary

It was overall fantastic cruise with family and friends. A cruise that I would highly recommend if you are taking a trip with multiple people and tastes.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was really quick and efficient. They had a seating area but there was no one there because they were getting the guests on so quickly. If you follow the check in process before your cruise everything goes smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food overall was good. I have had better but I wasn’t expecting Michelin star worthy food. There was a great assortment for many different tastes. I would find it hard to believe that you couldn’t find something on the ship that you would like. My only complaint was that Sorrentos could be better. Also the soft serve ice cream closes at 9 pm and it has someone serving it. I would rather grab my own ice cream whenever I like and at later times than 9pm.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were so many things to do. There was zip line, rock wall climbing, water slides, and other activities throughout the ship. Especially during the day. It’s hard for me to imagine someone being bored during the day with the activities. The night time is a slightly different story though…

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The RC produced shows were amazing! Especially when you factor in that you’re at sea for this type of quality. Hiro and the ice skating performances were my favorite. The night life was lacking to me. There were weird gaps between nightly events. The clubs didn’t open until around midnight. The same thing for the balloon drop. There was nothing in between and it was hard to keep your energy up waiting for music or anything else to happen. Also, the music was old and nothing newer at all. I didn’t stay out too late as I got bored. The silent disco was amazing though. My family had a complete blast and I wish they had it on more nights of the cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No complaints here at all. Everyone we encountered were nice and friendly. Our waiter at the MDR was FANTASTIC! He was so rememberable and I hope that I can get someone so good on my next cruise. Even when there was a hiccup the staff was very quick to correct the situation.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean. You didn’t see glasses or dishes scattered around the ship in random areas. The public bathrooms were also always clean. I love that they have motion sensors for all the bathroom doors and they ensure that you wash your hands prior to entering the Windjammer.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was fine. We had to clean some areas of the cabin when we checked in. There was old croissant on the railing and dust in multiple areas. Our room stewardess wasn’t the best but overall it was fine.

Ship tip

Make reservations to anything you want to see or do as early as possible. Things can fill up quick.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze and getting in was no problem at all. Disembarkation was a totally different experience. It was a complete disaster trying to get a ride share out of there. I have been to numerous events, ports, airports, etc and I have never seen such a chaotic seen. Complete incompetence by the port authority. I couldn’t imagine being an older person or disabled person trying to navigate that mess.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
I had no expectations going into the port. I came away genuinely impressed. It was a nice and relaxing day. I enjoyed every moment of it. Relaxing at the beach and not having vendors harass you is such a nice change of pace from the last all inclusive beach I was at. The food wasn’t bad and I felt as if they made the alcoholic drinks stronger on island than they do on ship and they’re RC staff.

Falmouth, Jamaica

There was nothing too impressive with this port. We did an excursion and took a. raft down the river which we enjoyed. Everything else was normal port things.

Nassau, Bahamas

Another basic port. It was ok, but I don’t ever have to visit it again.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was very quick and efficient. The facial recognition helps as well. We were off the ship very quickly and no complaints from me regarding that.
